Five Below — Local services in Virginia Beach

Edited to add: The older white woman who works here always rates her service as the highest option, which last I checked, the questionnaire was for the customer, not the associate to answer. Don’t lie to give the store a better overall rating.

It defeats the purpose of SELF checkout, when they only open one or two of the 10 checkout lanes and check you out themselves. I don’t need someone to stand right beside me and scan my items for me. If so, I wouldn’t be at a self checkout lane. When they asked whether you needed help or not, that was 1000% okay, but now it’s just weird and I’ll definitely head to the other locations or the popshelf instead. If you love pointless interactions, this is for you. If you dislike people or social interactions, avoid like the plague and head elsewhere. I intentionally only shop where there are self checkouts about 99% of the time, bookstores excluded, because I am not a big people person, and I can scan and bag my items quicker anyways. So, in my best Randy Jackson impersonation, “it’s a no from me, dawg.”

The two stars are ONLY due to the guy who works there often because he’s always extremely friendly, greets everyone, helps everyone, makes sure everything is well stocked, and exudes positivity. He is a ten star experience, but...

we always have a good time when we go to five below because there's always something that you didn't know you needed there! It's pretty centrally located right into the town center of Virginia Beach very close to the interstate it's also it's in between independence and Rosemont Road .They've got everything you can imagine in there. although now they have some items that are above five dollars I've seen an item up to $20 in there now we don't usually need anything when we go but we always find out that we did the staff they are quite friendly sometimes a little overbearing it you know maybe just want to peacefully shop but you know that's really not bad they're just doing their job above and beyond, imagine if we really wanted somebody and they weren't helping us upset we would be well I definitely recommend going to five below it's a fun something to do I would you know you could even do it on a rainy day and just to go and have something fun it will brighten up your day I...

What’s the point of a SELF check out if I can’t check MYSELF out ???? For one then the little girl had an attitude & was in my personal space cause again it’s supposed to be a SELF check out I didn’t even want to type in my pin cause she’s right next to me checking out my items in SELF check out . pointless granted I understand you have people that skip scan or steal but you have all your associates at the front to make sure no one is stealing but no one on the floor to assist your costumers. THEN what’s the point of self check out when she tapped everything on the screen couldn’t even tell you how my OWN experience went because she was tapping everything on the screen including a 9/9 experience & it wasn’t that AT ALL . Didn’t even get a receipt & wasn’t even offered the option to get a receipt cause she was so quick to tap the screen FOR ME at SELF CHECK out .
