EDITED (7/30/2024): I want to revise my original review because the owner responded so fast. Not only did he give me a full refund--but it happened swiftly.

I had fond memories in that establishment from when my father was still alive and my wife and kids, my parents, and my sister and her family would all go there after church and for special occasions. In fact, I've had at least two birthdays there in my early adult years.

I've bumped it up the food to a 3-star and the service to a 4-star (because the owner made it right).

And I do wanna go back again.

Thanks so much to The Owner.

God bless you and God bless El Azteca!

What’s the point of having a special instructions box in your restaurant app if you’re just gonna ignore it!

Earlier tonight, I ordered takeout.

I ordered the Speedy Gonzales (burrito, taco, rice or beans). In the special instructions box, I requested CHICKEN enchilada and CHICKRN taco—with CHICKEN in all caps. That was my daughter’s order.

For my order, the menu stated that the burrito had chicken and beans in it. And I requested that the guacamole please be in a container.

Guess what?

My daughter’s order was beef enchilada and beef taco.

My burrito lacked the promised beans and my guacamole was ON my burrito—not in the requested container.

I used to really like El Azteca.

For years, my wife and daughters and my parents used to frequent the place but now it’s like they don’t really care about anything.

That’s why we seldom eat there anymore.

And after tonight, I won’t be giving them my business anymore: Eat-in or takeout. Period.

Sad.

They used to be my favorite...

I have to give a one-star review because I never received my meal. My two daughters and I sat down and got our drinks relatively quickly. It took a while for the waiter to come back around because they were pretty busy. Understandable. After we ordered I noticed another table of 8 to 10 people ordered as well. They got their food in the same time as my daughter's got theirs. They even tried to deliver my daughters' food to their table. I thought they would be back around with my meal but no one ever came. I waited patiently at first and a gentleman at the next table over even commented that I had not gotten my food yet. No one ever came back to check on us to make sure everything was okay at this point or to see if I needed a drink refill or to tell me where my food was. When the waiter finally came back around my daughters were almost finished their food and he asked if everything was okay. I said "No, I haven't gotten my food yet and my daughters are almost done thiers." The waiter then said that my food was not ready yet. I told him to take my meal off the bill and I asked for the check because we were ready to go. My daughters are 2 and 7 and they were starting to get antsy after almost an hour of sitting in the restaurant. We will not be coming to this...

I placed a to go order for the Vegetarian #3 with a mushroom quesadilla instead of the chalupa around 7:30 or 7:45 p.m. and my order was ready at closing time. When I got home and was about to eat I noticed I was missing the bean burrito from my order. I attempted to call several times, but no answer being that they closed at 8 p.m.

Can't leave this bad review without stating, of the many times I've dined in and had to go from this restaurant I have not had the misfortune which I had tonight or poor service. Hence a 2 star review and not 1 star.

I will attempt to contact them first thing when they open in order to get this resolved in some fashion. Hopefully I will receive acceptable customer service and be able to edit the current rating and comment.

UPDATE:

I was able to contact the restaurant and was given the option of how to resolve the mishap after explaining what occurred. Employee I spoke with was aware of my post and mistook my intention with the post, but was polite and explained her position to me and allowed me to explain myself to her.

Needless to say, as before this one off occurrence, I will continue to support this restaurant because of the quality customer service, friendly atmosphere and food. Kudos to El Azteca employees...

I tried this place for the first time and I loved it!! The restaurant was very nice, clean, dim light, and the perfect place to relax while eating some really good food! Our server was very nice, polite, and helpful! The prices were very cheap for the portion sizes! The taste of the food was phenomenal and they have sooooo many vegetarian options! I ordered the mushroom chalupa, mushroom enchiladas, and mushroom quesadillas. AMAZING!!!! By the way, they have the best guacamole I've tasted!! I'd highly recommend this place!

I've had mixed experiences at El Azteca. When I first moved to the Town Center area, it was great. The food was fast and delicious and the margaritas were cold and strong. But over time the food seemed to go down hill. One time I went with a friend and our food was so salty that neither of us could eat it. After a few more trips with sub-par food we decided to rely on another local Mexican restaurant. Maybe we just had a different chef, I'm not sure. But I'd be weary and ready for a very salty experience.
