I would give it zero stars if I could. Hilton brand is usually my go to place for lodging. But this particular location was horrible. It was by far the filthiest Hilton and one of the filthiest hotels I've ever been in. You can see the photos for yourself. If it wasn't a business trip, I would have found lodging elsewhere. I should have known it was not going to be a good stay from the moment I walked into the place. When I walked in, instead of a warm greeting, the young lady at the front desk just stared at me. After an awkward minute, she looked at me and said "do you need something. Are you checking out?" She was very unpleasant. I told her that my flight came in earlier than expected, so I'd like to check in early if a room was available. As a Gold member, I can usually check in early by a few hours depending on availability. She replied with "well I doubt anything will be available this early." But when she looked, she said that there was availability. I knew there would be because it was a Tuesday in February. Nobody is coming to VA Beach in the middle of the week in the middle of winter unless it's for work! When she checked me in, she didn't acknowledge that I was a Gold member (but that's OK, I wasn't offended by that, even though I'm supposed to get a gift upon arrival). She gave me a room on the 5th floor. I had to ask her where the elevator was, and she seemed bothered that I asked. When I got to the 5th floor it was filthy (see photos). Trash was throughout the hallway, the carpet was dirty; it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. For the 3 days I was there, the same trash remained in the hallway... the entire time. To make matters worse, when I got to my room, I noticed that the bathroom was not cleaned. There was urine on the toilet and the tub was dirty. The bed was not made, sheets on the bed were yellow, and there was blood on the pillows. It was gross. I immediately texted the front desk through the app and went down to talk with someone about the room. They assured me that someone would be up to clean it. About 30 minutes later, a housekeeper named Kevin showed up. He was listening to some vulgar comedy show and music without headphones. I watched him clean the bathroom, then I had to step out for a minute. When I got back, the dirty, soiled, bloodied linen was still on the bed, when I specifically asked for brand new pillows and linen. It took a few hours to actually get everything replaced by the head housekeeper, Kim. She was nice, and I watched her unpackage the new pillows and replace everything that was on my bed with new linen. I was extremely disappointed in my stay. The assistant manager was also not very proactive. When I came down to inquire about tax free forms, she had no clue what I was taking about. While I was waiting for her to figure it out, there was a gentleman that had just checked in and said his room was dirty too. That there was remnants of someone smoking Marijuana in his room. He said they had left the innards of a blunt and the baggie in the room on the floor and his 3 year old son nearly sat in it. She did absolutely nothing, but call housekeeping after he and I talked about how trash the hotel was for several minutes. She offered no apology, no nothing! This hotel is terrible. Don't book here; run the other way. It needs to be under different management with an entirely new staff.

I am just copying the email I sent to the managers two days ago (no response yet) because it's not worth the time to retype. We are checking out of your hotel today. We arrived yesterday, 7/30/22 around 1:45pm. We were greeted kindly. We used digital key and walked straight to our room, room 727. I am going to be attaching pictures to this email of what we found upon arrival. There was half eaten food in the refrigerator, chips on the floor by the bed, horrific blood looking stains all over the mattress. We walked back to the lobby and quietly talked to Gabby. I say quietly because there were other guests within earshot and we didn't want to be "those people". Gabby was amazing and IMMEDIATELY gave us a new room. We toted our stuff back up, now to room 527. The keys (card and digital) would unlock the door but the door handle wouldn't work. We had to take our stuff back down to the lobby again and talk with Gabby. She sent maintenance and while waiting for him in the unbelievably hot hallways we started noticing all the stains on the hallway walls. I am also attaching a picture of those. The carpets in the hallways are stained really bad as well. I just started staying in hotels this year. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on the VA Beach strip back in March with our 7 young children. I paid less for those two rooms combined than I did for this one room. That hotel was beautiful and clean and felt so safe. That hotel is what made me decide to become a Hilton Honors member and book a Hilton in Bristow VA in June where I took one of my sons to his first concert. It too was beautiful and clean. I booked a Hilton 3 weeks ago in Pooler GA for myself, husband and children on our way to Florida. Once again, an amazing stay. I booked this Hilton based on what I've seen at other ones. I paid more for this room than any of the others and this place was... honestly... gross. Gabby was the only staff we really interacted with and once again, she was LOVELY. We googled this area before booking as well. Upon arrival we were so relieved to see what a beautiful, nice and safe area it seemed to be so it was really disheartening to walk into your hotel and experience the things we did. I will definitely question staying at another Hilton because of this stay. Thank you for your time, Jennifer Reed

I don't write this with the intention of being rude, I have stayed at Hilton hotels in the past and I understand what's to be expected. They're not perfect and I don't expect that and I always bring my own trash bag, Clorox wipes.  I'm so thankful I did because had I not, this room #511 would have been unacceptable and unstayabble. I scrubbed everything after walking in and noticing what I think to be icing, on the bathroom door. There were ten peices of tape all over the ceiling from previous tenants having a what looks to be Valentine's day party from pink confetti and ribbon found behind dresser by bed. Everything was sticky and dusty, the light bulb was missing from one lamp. The floors had crumbs under foot rest. Some stuff was behind dresser that didn't belong to us. :/ The door from inside the room was so filthy it looks like it has not been wiped in six months, and this is during covid and cold and flu season!!!  For almost $250 a night I am very disappointed and disgusted. I am considering giving Marriott my business in the future. Also, where we were sitting and eating breakfast it looks like the light and ceiling are crumbling and going to fall. This was over our $40 absolutely nasty breakfast that was served by someone who looks and acts like he just rolled out of bed. Unprofessional.  The sausage was so overcooked I couldn't even cut it, the pancakes were half cold and looked gross. Couldn't even eat them at all. The omelette was very salty and the bacon had no salt and too crunchy. The elevators were so so nasty as well. Seriously sad. I give any stars because the front desk service was sweet. The pool, jacuzzi and hot tub were the most enjoyable and why we chose this hotel. And close to everything! Also the fitness room was amazing, even had a scale to weigh yourself. The management team got back with me quickly and seem to be on top of things ;) Hope this helps future stayers and staff.

My son goes to school, ODU, so my husband and I booked a room for the three of us here, because this hotel was in walking distance of several restaurants and shops that we were interested in. While my husband was checking in, I decided to go outside and sit at the outdoor seating area. I was unable to do so, because the outdoor furniture was filthy and torn and absolutely disgusting. I should have realized there would most likely be an issue because of the heavy smell of marijuana in the lobby. Once my husband had us checked in, we were on our way to the elevator to our room, and the hallways smelled even worse of marijuana, and they elevator was just as bad if not worse. When we arrived to our room, the chair in the room was stained and shredded. When leaving for dinner that evening, we were going to stop by the desk to pick up our tickets for breakfast that we prepaid for. The person at the desk didn’t know how to give us the tickets so we had to get the tickets the next morning, and when we got them, the tickets were only for two people, and we had prepaid for three people, so we had to go back yet again and get the correct breakfast tickets. Later that same day, there was extensive plumbing work going on at the floor above us. There must’ve been a pity, pretty big problem, because the noise was incredibly loud and lasted quite a while. A couple days after checking out out of the hotel I checked my credit card statement, and I was charged a $300 smoking fee. No one in my family smokes, so I called the customer service number and I was told that there was nothing they could do and to call the manager. After trying to reach the manager for about a week, I finally got in touch with them. After speaking with the manager, I was told that the detectors were offsite, and that there was nothing they could do, and the technology was relatively near so that it wasn’t an exact science, and I should dispute the charge on my credit card. I disputed the charge on my credit card is recommended by the manage. I received notice today that I would be charged the $300 smoking fee, even though no one in my family smokes. My family and I will never say it another Hilton location again, and we will definitely let our friends and family know about the horrible smells in the hotel, the lack of housekeeping, and the absolute lack of customer service. We will also be sure to contact ODU and let them know that this is a terrible place for parents to stay. They are visiting their child, because you get charged for smoking when you don’t smoke and spent hours and hours dealing with a charger, you shouldn’t have gotten the first place and nothing is done about it. The Westin is just down the street, and even though it might not be in walking distance, it’s a very short car ride to all of the locations available in the town center. There is no valet parking so you have to park in a parking garage anyways so you might as well park there and walk to the restaurant while staying at the The much nicer...

WORST HILTON STAY EVER! My husband pre-paid for 5 nights. We paid the upcharge to get a Pure room because I suffer from allergies and hoped this would help. Honestly, I cannot say whether it made a difference. My nose was still stuffed and I woke with a headache. But, the one-star rating is because of the service, or rather, LACK of service. Our room keys had to be reset EVERYDAY and we basically had to beg to get our room cleaned. After the first day the front desk said no one came because we had to ask since they were short staffed. Um, Ok, not sure how we’d possibly know that, but got it. We asked. Next day, still nothing. There were only two sets of towels originally in the bathroom, so we had to ask for clean towels at the desk. They gave us two bath towels. No hand towels, no wash cloths. Ok, not the end of the world. The attendant promised someone would come the following morning. We are gone all day each day. Third day, still nothing. We had to ask for toilet paper, tissues, and yes, towels again because the rod in the tub only holds a single towel and the towel on the door hook would fall to the floor. At this point we have a bathroom floor full of old wet towels, both trash bins were full and we started using a paper bag for the overflow. On day two, the comforter fell off the bed during the night, so we slept with just a sheet that night. The next night I removed the duvet so my husband wouldn’t freeze . Now it’s day four, finally the room seems to have been cleaned. I went in to use the restroom and the seat was left up. Unfortunately, when I put it down there was splatter or something on the seat! It looked like brown droplets along the seat that was not there when we left that morning. Yuck! (See photo) There is also hair in the tub from when I stepped in it with my shoes that morning to hang my towel on the bar since I assumed I’d have to use it again that night. But, this tells me you didn’t even rinse the tub! So, now I’m thinking that if they couldn’t just run the water, then it’s highly likely that instead of changing the duvet as requested, they likely just put the same one that was on the floor back on the bed! I’m not taking any chances! If it wasn’t so late and we weren’t already checking out in the morning I’d gladly forego any left over prepaid nights and go ANYWHERE else. It’s such a shame because the Town Center area has everything you need within walking distance and would be the perfect spot for our family and friends to stay. Unfortunately, this hotel leaves a lot to be desired and the only recommendation I will be giving is to stay far...
