I walked into Madewell today just looking for jeans. It was quiet and empty in the front of the store but I still grabbed two jeans and a top. When I reached the middle of the store, Alice found me and immediately relieved my arm and put my items in a dressing room. She was so friendly, kind, attentive, fashionable, super knowledgeable, and honestly a breath of fresh air! She gave several recommendations and I ultimately only walked out with a purchase because of Alice’s service. it takes me a while to find the right jeans so I never buy the first time trying also because I need sizes that the store doesn’t carry. Had a terrible experience at the Walnut Creek store yesterday. My friend and I were shopping and the sales person asked us if we needed help. I said yes, can you give us some recommendations on the best jeans for my friends body shape and size. The sales person went on to list every cut they had vs a recommendation. Then we asked again, what cut would she recommend would look best on her? She offered to pull some jeans aside for her to try. 10 minutes later and no sign of the sales person we went searching for her and she was helping someone else at the register. Typically the interactions I've had at this location are fairly good. Unfortunately today my interaction with the store manager Bernadette was poor. There was a misunderstanding with a return process, unfortunately the store manager Bernadette did not handle it well whatsoever. Her tone of voice, body language, and eye contact were hostile and unprofessional. Bernadette didn't seek to solve the issue at hand or maintain any level of integrity. What a...
