The worst Home Depot in all of Rhode Island in terms of customer service, and I sometimes have to shop that the Providence location (if you know, you know). I have been using the Primo water refilling system for years now. Always bring back my empty containers to purchase a refill on a weekly basis. The last Home Depot I was at before this one was sold out of refills so I got a voucher to use for my next purchase to prove I had brought in my empty container already. I needed help cashing out as the system would not go back to let my purchases my water. The young blond cashier with fake eyelashes in the front was too busy flirting with a young man from loading. He approached me first to try to help, wasn’t even his job but he was nice all the same. When it wasn’t working, the young blond girl sign loudly then came over to help. Didn’t even say hello, how can I help. Nothing. She proceeded to tab the screen very loudly to try to remedy the problem but to also let everyone know that she didn’t want to do her job. She tried to cash me out for a brand new water. I proceeded to tell her that I was only looking to buy a refill as I had already returned my empty container at another location. She got very annoyed and just kept saying that I needed to have my empty container with me right now or I could not get my refill. She then stomped off in the middle of me talking to get the front manager who was a older woman with glasses. I told the manager the situation thinking that this was easily resolved but oh no. The manager proceeded to come up with every excuse imaginable as to my voucher wouldn’t work. “It’s doesn’t scan into the system” as she proceeded to scan it into the system. “You need to bring the empty container in with you or it throws if the inventory” like what?! So many people return the empty containers by the multiples to the only buy one refill at the store. She would not let me buy the refill saying that I needed to go elsewhere. I’m just confused as how could I have gotten the voucher if I didn’t already return my empty container. Manager said that she would look into it but we know that’s a lie. As I was leaving as well, the young cashier was acting all smug like they had stopped the worlds most notorious water stealer. It was a difference of 6 dollars. The manager was right though, I will be going to every other location but that one...
Read moreNeeded flooring for two bathrooms and a kitchen. Home Depot sent a person (at our expense) to measure and check the floors. He assured us that ten boxes of vinyl planking would be enough and that the floors were flat. We bought an extra box just in case. We hired the installer through Home Depot. The installer came, and said that two of the floors were not flat enough. That being, he was only able to floor one bathroom. After replacing the subfloor & underlayment, the installer returned and completed the second bath. He realized that there was not going to be enough flooring to complete the kitchen. We purchased two more boxes and rescheduled. Vicki from Home Depot called us, and informed us that we have to pay an additional "trip fee" of $80 because the installer has to return. It's the measures fault for the installer having to return. The point is we had to pay for: (1) the measurer to make the mistake $40, (2) three additional boxes $180 to correct his mistake, and (3) the extra trip fee $80 as a penalty for his mistake. That's $300 all because their measurer was incompetent. Very dissatisfied with this Home Depot experience. Shame...
Read moreMy previous order took 3 trips, not 100% hd fault but mostly, lack of training for the so called pro's. This time walking in was so important to be counted they insisted I walk out and walk in a certain entrance to be counted by NO ONE. The super important task of counting people was not that important I guess. When I was apologizing to the insisting woman when entering, she told ms that sometimes the counter lady helps with returns. When I entered I specifically looked for the woman with the iPad... no where. THEN when trying to order lumber, not HD fault, I was told pt lumber is no where to be found. HD has no backup plan for people to make orders. On the positive, the one hd pro did take my name and # so when pt lumber does come in I can place my order. That was 100% the HD employee not a policy of HD. He gets 5 stars. Some things can't be helped. I understand that but this will be trip #5 to place 2 orders. NOT GOOD ... I'm very well aware that you won't care, your sales are through the roof but since not much is going on I decided to take the time to write this. I am and will always be loyal to HD. Lowes is only used as...
