The single best stationary store I've ever set foot in. A true small business that comes with all the dressings, from top-quality cards for all occasions, to the best stationary (including personalized if needed), to the Emily Post-esque staff.

A bit more on the cards - this place really is a step above Papyrus. The cards here come from small companies in the U.S. and abroad, and range from $2 - $10. When I want to impress someone with a thank you card, a birthday, or a Holiday card, I make special trips to Dupont Circle just for this store.

Special Holidays note: last year I bought a very charming, handcrafted, wooden advent calendar that depicts a warm, family room Christmas night, with 24 little doors you put your own treats into. Rare finds like this really make this store stand out.

A couple of weeks ago, I came in to print some documents, and a very kind man helped me. I was so grateful because he saved me a lot of time. However, when I came in today and politely asked to print documents, the response was completely different. An older lady responded to my request in a very condescending and rude manner saying she was too busy to help and this is not a print shop. If printing documents isn’t typically part of the service, I can understand that part, although the gentleman even let me know when the best days would be to come in which gave the impression that this service is offered here. Regardless, there’s no need to respond in an insolent tone. It was surprising and disappointing to be treated that way- but hey, a superiority complex requires self awareness and development of self...

Original review -- Amazing store with a wide selection of items, including multiple fountain pens which can be tough to find in a physical store. The gentleman who helped me with my purchase on Labor Day this past summer was very helpful. Unfortunately, there was a mixup with boxing my pen at checkout and I discovered I had a lovely box but no pen a few days later. Through multiple phone calls I was assured the missing pen was found and would be shipped to me. I still have not received the pen, and the merchant denied my dispute with my bank. So, I'm out $95 because the owner won't ship me what I purchased, despite the...
