This experience with CVS on I street has completely eroded my confidence in this chain to deliver health care and will influence my decision to ever use this chain again unless no other option exist. I live in another state. My son lives in DC. About 2 1/2 weeks ago he developed covid. Initially his doctor would not give him any prescriptions but told him to get some otc meds. On 8/31 I called the I street CVS to inquire about their advertised delivery. I finally gave up after being on the phone for well over 35 minutes. My son got worst & on 9/3 the doctor sent rxs to this store. My son texted about 3pm & said he had been on hold for over 30 minutes & he had such fatique he couldn't continue holding. I called the store & was on hold for well over an hour and a half. No one picked up & I finally hung up. I called a store on Jersey Street. After being on hold about 15 minutes, someone picked up and said that 4 rxs had been sent to I street but he could not transfer the rxs because the I street store had put them in the computer as in process & they couldn't be transferred under that status. I ask him to call the I street store to get changed so he could transfer. It was a little after 5 pm. The advertised closing time was 7pm. The person came back to the line & responded that he had a dedicated line & the pharmacy had closed. He said unfortunately there was nothing he could do. I called the after hours doctor line & they would not be able to send to the Jersey store for 24 hours. On 9/4, Saturday am, I did get someone to answer the phone after about 10 minutes. He said he did have 4 rxs but he didn't have 2 of them in stock. I ask him to check to see if the Jersey store had & he replied that they had all 4. I had assumed he checked thru the computer since that pharmacy didn't open till 10. When a friend got to the Jersey store they only had 3 of the 4. The staff said no one ever called to check to see if they had all 4. Bad info on their computer system? This was a series of blunders. There was absolutely no forward thinking. Why would a store not call a patient if they didn't have the drugs in stock to see how the patient wanted to proceed. Why would you keep people on hold for so long. Why would you close 2 hours prior to posted time. Why could you put rxs in a status that another store couldn't transfer especially with the knowledge that you were going to close early and the 4 rxs were obvious covid protocol and the patient needed asap. I called the corporate office to file a complaint and was told that they would investigate and call me back. It has been 10 days and I have not had...
Read moreIf you're like me, you rely heavily on Google reviews. The couple previous reviews reflect that those patrons were frustrated they couldn't figure out when the store was open or opening...This store has just recently opened at this new location. Here's my experience so far and my biggest needs with a CVS pharmacy, their pharmacy's communication is impeccable and reassuring. Not only did the pharmacy call to tell me when my prescription was on order, but they personally called to verify I wanted the brand name since that is exactly as my prescription is written. That is a major winning deal when you have a pharmacist who pays attention to that. Then they sent an automatic notification that my prescription was ready to pick up an hour later. This pharmacy already has my respect when it comes to thorough communication, prescription accuracy and...
Read moreI am sick. I cam at 9:30 pm last night because their hours sat they are open until 10pm. They were closed and the front staff made it sound like I should have known they closed at 7pm. I’m here this morning at 830 because it says they open at 8:00 am. It is now 9:02 and I’ve had to delay a meeting because I cannot waste another trip. The staff this morning is more helpful, but the pharmacist walked in at 9 asking where he could park. There is now a line of people forming and he is still no where to be seen. The only reason my doc sent the prescription to this location was because they were open until 10pm and I needed it. 9:05 still no pharmacist. 9:10 still no pharmacist. 9:12 open. 9:15 and they don’t know if they can help me. 9;19 leaving without meds....
