Hadn’t been here in so long I felt like it was time for a review! The last I remembered was a really great brunch. So happy to have tried dinner. My friend and I shared the Korean bbq chicken wings. They were good! Not too spicy (but even if they were I like spice) I ordered the Turkey club and she ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Both really good. I wouldn’t order the Turkey club again only because it’s got an extra layer of bread and it was a lot of carbs for me. A third friend showed up and ordered a sushi roll not pictured but also good Ran into another friend super randomly at the bar and he was ordering pizza take out. He said it’s Detroit style and amazing. Never realized same owners as side door next door! Drinks: I ordered a spicy margarita, it had a chili 🌶️ in it but it wasn’t very spicy. Tasted good though. My friend ordered a cocktail and enjoyed it. The name was something tiki it was purplish. 😅🤷🏽‍♀️ Also the service. So great. We were being taken care of by Josh, he was awesome. I was watching my friends dog and didn’t have all the supplies and Josh brought a huge water bowl out for him on the patio . So I would say the patio is dog friendly!

I just want to make people aware that is restaurant is serving food under 4 different restaurant names which i find to be extremely weird. Early bird sells breakfast burritos, which apparently you can only normally get to go but get in restaurant at “scarlet oak” on Saturday and Sunday. They also appear to be serving sushi which is under a different name and pizza under a different name “side door pizza”. Overall, it’s just a bit weird to serve 3 different foods under 4 restaurant names, almost like a ghost kitchen. I tried out early bird burrito from early bird take out and it was 3/5. The early bird latte wasn’t great. Overall, would not return.

This place is AMAZING! The food is incredible! The service is amazing! The only downside: it is so incredibly loud… I don’t know if it’s the acoustics in this building or what but it sounds like everyone is yelling… it is difficult to have a conversation at a table. Apparently it’s a Wednesday thing because it’s half off bottles of wine (that’s what our server said). But I would definitely come back here! The food is so good! Where it’s late we’re going to sidecar, but there was no indoor seating and it was raining so we went next door since they served the same pizza and it was so worth it! Highly recommend!

The new dining experience will take some getting used to. I would advise parents with children to practice now in smaller settings before the rush and full capacity. Scarlet Oak has a nice outdoor seating area perfect for dinning out on a sunny day. 90% of the patio area is covered so you don't have to overly worry about being directly in the hot sun. All tables are six feet apart. Waiters will only come to your table if your mask are on. I say know what you want and put your order in for everything all at once so you aren't burning up in your mask while waiting. You have to raise your hand and put your mask on to get their attention to come to the table. No mask no service. The restrooms have to be entered through a separate back entrance and your mask has to be on at all times. There is someone watching at all times to ensure social distancing and that there is only one person in the bathroom and one waiting in the hall. As a parent of two they allowed me to wait in the hall and the boys go in together, lol, I wasn't moving. Once you leave the bathroom the watcher will come and provide you with additional hand sanitizer. You must wear your mask back to your seat. The food was ok, the highlights were the sprouts, pizza and wings. The fried chicken sandwich was overly fried for my liking although that may be perfect for others. The Apple Mule was very refreshing.

The level of cleanliness and PPE the staff had was appreciated and made the dining experience feel safe and clean. It takes some getting used to and I admire the staffs friendliness and attentiveness with the additional mask and gloves in the heat. Together we can get through this and come out stronger and...

I accidently left my credit card at the restaurant on a Saturday and didn't notice it until I got to the airport to catch my flight home. I called the next day and was told by Brian, the manager, that he would mail it "when he got the chance". Called again Friday the following week, and again spoke to Brian, who told me my credit card was mailed on Wednesday. Apparently he didn't think it was very important, or just didn't care. I spend a lot of time in DC, always take out friends and family, and really liked the food at the Scarlet Oak, but would never go back as I think it is very poor customer service to be so nonchalant and almost rude to a patron, who would have sung your praises from the roof top were it not for your manager's rotten attitude.

Thanks for leaving a voicemail, nice response Brian:, guess somebody should train you in customer service, It's the tone that makes the music. While I realize it was not your responsibility to mail my card to me, it was your attitude that stinks!!! Any competent manager would have been nice about it and I would have mailed you a gift card as a thank you! Here is your voicemail, hope your owner sees it;

Hi Milo I just saw that you gave us a one star review. To be honest with you that is unfair. It is not my responsibility to go personally out of my way to mail you your credit card for you being irresponsible and leaving it at our restaurant. I think that it is absolutely absurd for you to write this review. I will be responding publicly to it. Yeah, that is absolutely ridiculous and I did a nice thing for you and this is pretty terrible of you to do. Thank you for coming in,I hope that everything is well for you in the future but I would rather not see you at our restaurant...

Was looking for a quiet-ish spot where I can grab breakfast, relax, and people watch. I had went to 3 other locations along barracks row where there was either a 30 minute wait for a single diner, or the music was ENITRELY too loud. So I walked alllll the way to navy yard and ended at scarlet oak. The scene was perfect. Not too loud not too quiet and I sat at the bar. Now. Sitting at the bar in a somewhat empty bar you'd think I would have gotten stellar service. But I had to keep flagging down the 2 bartenders. Even when they were standing at the bar Kind of off putting.

The food was delicious tho. I got the following Side of bacon 2 sides of scrambled eggs Nutella and Maduros Waffles Jameson Irish coffee.

The coffee was ok. They ran out of the special Jameson cold brew so I had to get just regular Jameson and it was lukewarm.

The scrambled eggs were the star! They were perfectly seasoned and so good that I got 2 sides!

The Nutella and Maduro Waffles were interested but there was too much going on and at the same time not enough! They were really skimpy with the Nutella and overloaded with whipped cream. Just huge mounds of the stuff. The Maduro needed a tiny bit of salt to cut through the Nutella.

They also have an interesting policy on the unlimited brunch drinks. They are unlimited for an hour until brunch ends. A dude got there around 230 and wanted to get the drinks but they were like it ends at 3. The place was empty. They could've really given him the unlimited drinks for the full hour. Especially since he talked about how he's a regular.....

All in all if you're in navy yard check em...
