I walked inside the facility and wasn’t greeted by anyone. I introduced myself to the so-called “pen doctor” (as he proclaimed) and told him that it was my first time in a facility & this place was recommended by coworker less than 10 minutes ago. He seemed unconcerned and told me just to look at pens. I explain to him I was uneducated about the pens and if you could assist me. He said he was busy working on a pen (who was physically present) and I should go to the back and “shake up” the other employees that were just sitting down. I feel as though as the customer I shouldn’t have to go look for a representative to assist me. He just let me stand there and figure things out while I look at the clearance table. I felt. embarrassed/disrespected & just treated like I didn’t matter. I wasn’t coming in there to bargain and I know I don’t look the most professional (blonde dreadlocks and tattoos )but I wanted to spend my hard earned honest 9to5 money on a high quality pen. Thank you for the experience, I know moving forward I will just buy a pack of...
Read moreI recently ordered a pen form Fahrney's as a gift to be sent directly to the recipient. I was told I could expect it to arrive in 5-7 business days. At the two week mark the pen still had not arrived so I contacted Fahrney's. The pen had not been sent. I was told that it would go out the next day but would not arrive within the originally promised time frame. No explanation, no apology, no offer of expedited shipping. The Fahrney's agent insisted that there was nothing that could be done but to ship it as soon as possible. I disagree with this statement. I pointed out that Fahrney's could review its procedures and practices in order to determine how this oversight occurred and take steps to keep it from happening again in the future. The agent told me that couldn't happen. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told that none were available but that I would be contacted. This hasn't happened. Fahrney's clearly has little regard for its responsibly to its customers and so...
Read moreLost my trust right after my first purchase. I walked in the store wanting to buy a piston fountain pen. Gave the saleswoman my price range and she immediately ignored my two criteria: 1) piston fountain pens (said 'everything is now convertible') and then 2) proceeded to show me a pen that was way over budget.
I selected a Kaewco aluminum for $165 after asking her if there were any other Kaweco pistons on offer (she said there weren't). I found a competing online offer for $130 and decided to buy from Fahrney's after all to support a local independent purveyor. When I returned home I learned that Kaweco makes a model for Euro 64.50. Went to Fahrney's website and lo and behold - it was there for $75 and available in stock. The saleswoman had denied there were any other piston models available. Upselling is one thing. Lying is another.
Fahrney's - I will not be returning. I was a new customer and was intending to return for future purchases. You have now lost me as a...
