We bought 4 coats last week at 3100 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20010, one of them did not fit on one of our kids. We went to Lidl at 6881 New Hampshire Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912 two times to return it but their computer said the return service is not available and the site manager told me all Lidl stores are not connected so he recommended us to go to the store we originally bought the coat. We went back to the store at 14th street NW with the receipt to return it and we were asked for the credit card we use when we purchased the coats, unfortunately our credit card was canceled and so we didnât have the same card, we are waiting for new credit card from our bank so we asked the manager to give us the refund with store credit and the manager said that they only give store credit for those who didnât bring the receipt. Then we came to the store with the receipt and she refused to give us our refund. As I understand from what she told us coming with the receipt to return an item is illegal in this store and i said I will come next time without a receipt. She said that now I saw you, if you come next time without receipt I will not accept your return. We donât really understand her role as a manager disrespecting customers who requested service or her assistance??? I donât understand how she wanted us to return it back. Because when we presented a receipt she said no and also when we said we will come without receipts she said no too???? We asked her name and she said her name is Tenisha and she refused to spell it for us. She is very unprofessional and doesnât have any rapport with customers. We went back to the store the next day, presented our receipt and the manager of shift issued our refund immediately...
Read moreI am writing to formally report a distressing experience at your Columbia Heights location. Both staff and management demonstrated unprofessionalism, hostility, and a lack of accountability, which I find unacceptable.
During checkout, the cashier displayed no courtesy or warmth toward customers. When I politely suggested she adopt a more welcoming approach, she ignored me. After multiple requests, she refused to provide her name. An assistant manager in line declined to assist, stating he was off-duty and directed me to another manager.
The manager who arrived responded with aggression and disrespect. As a disabled veteran reliant on a cane, I was appalled when he mocked my mobility condition during his dismissive rant. He refused to share his name or provide a complaint form, instead telling me to âgo onlineâ before walking away. This escalated the situation, leaving me no choice but to leave without resolution.
I contacted corporate immediately to report this incident. Weeks later, I have received no acknowledgment or follow-up, which reflects poorly on your companyâs commitment to customer care.
The conduct exhibitedâparticularly the mocking of a disabilityâis inexcusable. I urge a prompt investigation, corrective action, and a formal response. Until then, I cannot recommend this location and expect your organization to address this serious lapse in...
Read moreI stopped by this Lidl for the first time, and it was an interesting experience. The layout is a bit different from most grocery stores, with many items still in boxes on the shelves, giving the place a slightly cluttered feel. I imagine you get used to it if you're a regular shopper here.
The store wasn't the cleanest I've seen, but it did have all the basics coveredâfruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, bakery items, canned goods, and other prepackaged foods. They even carry some household items you might need.
The staff seemed friendly, though I didnât interact with them much. The store does have a lot of security due to theft issues in the area, which is something to be aware of. They offer both self-checkout and regular checkout, which is convenient. Prices were average.
One downside is that the store doesnât open until 8 AM, so if you're trying to stop by before work, it might not be the best option. However, they do stay open until 10 PM, which is nice for later shopping.
Overall, it was a decent stop for essentials, but I probably...
