Nice experience I recommend this place for sure and in my opinion we should send postal mail to those whom we need to pay value.

Can’t recommend this location enough! After some very poor experiences at other DC locations, walking into this post office is like a breath of fresh air. Mayra and two other ladies (who’s names I unfortunately did not catch) are so personable and kind. Their positivity made for a unexpectedly enjoyable visit.

TLDR: Great attitudes, very knowledgeable, pleasant atmosphere, quick service, fantastic attention to detail.

Interacting with the right (or wrong) person in any situation can completely make or break your experience. A person can either unlock all of the right doors for you and solve your problem quickly and efficiently, or slam shut the doors (and windows and blinds for good measure) and steer you in the completely wrong direction, wasting more of your time, energy, and money. Which person would you pick?

I was in a unique situation needing to open a PO Box in a different state, and had been rudely dismissed at other locations that it was not possible and I would need to fly to the location to submit my ID verification in-person. This is clearly not an easy or accessible solution for the average person, especially when the USPS website states that ID verification CAN be completed remotely.

These three ladies were the only ones who 1) had knowledge of the correct procedures and 2) went above and beyond to help me submit my forms through both fax AND mail to make sure the out-of-state location would have all the necessary information, as that location was also incredibly unhelpful and impossible to reach on the phone.

I went to these ladies twice in one day as the other locations (that I made the mistake of visiting) gave me false information and refused to even try to help me. The ladies at this location continued to work with me even after their store closed.

They tried to call the out-of-state location for over an hour (unsuccessful) and also noticed that one of my documents would expire soon, and had me send them an extra document to use as a backup to avoid any further potential delays. They also expedited the shipping of my documents as my situation was time-sensitive and needed a quick turnaround.

Employees at other locations would not even blink an eye or lift a finger to help someone to this extent, even though this is when people need the advice and expertise of the postal workers the most, as we do not have the same access to USPS knowledge and resources.

Post office heaven actually exists, and it’s at this DC location.

If you wish to have a postal experience where you won’t be rushed or dismissed, where the fax/scanners/printers actually work, where the lines are short and move quickly, and where the employees have a complete understanding of USPS systems and processes and are more than willing to help you navigate them, this location should be your first, and final, destination.

Thank you again to these three ladies, I quite literally couldn’t have done any of this...

With all these bad (and fairly old) reviews floating around, I thought I'd give my opinion on this post office. I've only been to two other post offices ever (one in NYC, and one outside of DC) and this one was essentially the same if not better than the others.

I've often had to send certified mail (which I always forget how to secure to the package for whatever reason) and they are more than happy to slap the label on and/or let me know if I need to finish completing the form. I wouldn't say any one of them is overly enthusiastic about the post office itself (actually, one of the tellers is often quite nice and usually the one I get when it has been long enough for me to forget the whole certified mail label thing again) but it usually falls on the "deliver services, call next customer, deliver services" meter.

Honestly, as someone who has worked in food service before I can completely relate to and appreciate the flat line approach since you get inundated with people's problems. I like this...
