Starting with a simple alignment request, I found myself coerced into purchasing Firestone's lifetime alignment package, courtesy of Wayne Firestone. The initial alignment went smoothly, but the second one turned into a frustrating saga lasting over four hours. Frustrated and pressed for time, I opted to skip the alignment, only to discover later that my front axle suffered damage, possibly due to the neglect.
In my attempt to seek a reliable alternative, I turned to Haledon Firestone. However, their overbooking practices led to a two-hour wait, only to be told they couldn't perform the alignment due to a purportedly tight bolt and a bent rear axle. Skeptical, I sought a second opinion from BMW service, which found no issues and efficiently carried out the alignment.
Despite holding an unlimited alignment package with Firestone, my third visit proved exasperating. After making an appointment and arriving at the shop, I was told of a four-hour wait or the option to leave the car behind. Frustrated by the unexpected delay, I voiced my discontent, left the premises, and promptly contacted Firestone service to file a complaint. Two weeks later, I'm still waiting for a response from the area manager as promised.
Reflecting on my decision to opt for the unlimited alignment plan, I now realize it was a youthful and naive choice. It appears that Firestone's service might be more geared towards those without alternatives or unaware customers. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the manager, Devon, who was incredibly friendly and professional. He took the time to listen to my concerns about my vehicle and provided expert advice on what services were necessary. The staff at this location were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure that my visit was comfortable and that my vehicle was taken care of.
The service itself was top-notch. The team at Firestone in Wayne was efficient, thorough, and made sure to keep me updated throughout the process. They even took the time to explain each step of the service and answer any questions I had. I was impressed with their attention to detail and the care they took with my vehicle. Also to share, what a clean establishment!
I was particularly impressed with Devon's expertise and knowledge - what a really good guy as well! He was able to diagnose an issue with my car that I had been previously unaware of, and his suggestion to fix it was done quickly and I was happy with the outcome. In addition, he was also able to recommend an ongoing maintenance schedule that will keep my car running smoothly for years to come.

Read moreAmazing service here. After two tires blew out today, I had my car towed here an hour before closing, and they welcomed me in. When we learned that they didn’t have my exact tire in stock, the manager, Gerald, presented me with options ranging from different tires, to leaving my car and ordering the tires I wanted – and he even offered to drive me home (to New York) on his way home if I were to leave my car!
When I decided to get two different tires, we came across another snag: my wheels had wheel locks but no key in the car. The team in the back went through all their keys with no luck, then huddled, strategized, and told me they could remove the locks but they couldn’t be salvaged if they did. I agreed and they carefully drilled into and removed all 4 locks for me so I could get the tires put on.
While waiting, the entire team was chatting with me about cars and bantering about the awful potholes. They were so friendly, even though my car kept everybody there for an hour after closing.
It’s easy as a customer to get aggravated when things don’t go as planned. I came here because they supposedly had my two tires in stock. When they actually didn’t, that sucked. But, a business shows it’s true colors in how they handle an unfavorable situation, and I was blown away with how they handled it for me.
I don’t live in the area, so I’m unlikely to stop back in (voluntarily at least lol), but I recommend others in the area give them a chance....
