Warhammer — Local services in West Bend

I'll start by saying I don't play Warhammer or tabletop games at all. I initially went in to seek some guidance on a Warhammer themed art project I'm working on for a friend. I have since been back with more Warhammer related inquiries. I've also bought some great paintbrushes there. The same lady in the shop, Monica, helped me both times. I found her to be extremely friendly and highly knowledgeable on all things Warhammer. She was a total godsend on my most recent visit, helping me identify some old metal 90s figures I'd picked up, and sharing resources with me so I'll know how to paint them up properly. She is a lovely human being and very easy to talk to. Since I have severe anxiety issues, this means a great deal to me and stands out bigtime when I go into new places especially. I try to go in when the store isn't busy, and she's been most generous with her time and happy to answer my questions. The store overall just has a good vibe...very comfortable and welcoming, even to an outsider to the game such as myself. Even if I don't get more into Warhammer, I'll be back for sure. If nothing else I plan to buy all my little brushes there...

I am completely new to Warhammer so I came in with a friend who was more familiar. I only found out about the place by chance when turning in to head to a different business. Its a bit hidden and out of the way, but once you find it their impression makes them hard to forget.

When we came in we were immediately greeted by Erik. Fantastic gentlemen who asked great questions to help us get started, and the regulars in the store are great company too! The whole store has an atmosphere of engagement and community that is sorely lacking even among other gaming stores in the area.

The selection is fantastic and they have a lot of great kits for beginners to get started. If you are already into Warhammer, they have a great selection of figs in stock and they do free shipping to the store for anything they don't have. They have a kiosk in-store to help with any purchases as well.

Coupled with free painting lessons, as well as a people who will gladly help show you how to play and pointers on where to get started, this is a great single-facet hobby store for anyone new or...

The store owner is an absolute legend. He's hilarious and gets you the information you need to get started and get going.

I was a regular before I left for college, and he threw me a small going away party to wish me good luck on my travels! He's the kind of guy that genuinely wants to be your friend, and if he sells a model kit along the way, that's just bonus points.

The biggest deal is that he offers model painting lessons for free while in store, and considering he's a competition painter, that's a good deal.
