Axelle + Ivy Salon — Local services in West Chicago Township

I followed my hairdresser, Kelsey Shomidie, to Axelle & Ivy because no one does blonde like she does. I’m so glad I did! I’ll get into why I love Kelsey in a moment, but let me start by getting into why I am such a fan of this salon.

Everyone working here is SO nice. It’s spotless, bright and airy; mirrors all around; the nicest Dyson air purifier is always going to ensure you’re never breathing in bleach or dyes. The owners, Cassandra and Ashley, are just about the friendliest chicest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. You can tell everyone there likes one another and they’re always around to check in to ensure you have refreshments and that you’re enjoying yourself. The products they use and sell are BOMB - R&Co and BLEU - Cass suggested in passing that my thin blonde would benefit from a certain bonding product from BLEU, and as someone who has tried it ALL as far as products go, this is by far the best thing I’ve ever used and I’ll never go back (nor has my hair ever looked better). While I was there, Cass and Ash also had some clients come in and I was both shocked and impressed with the perfection of what walked out the door.

Back to Kelsey - if you are in search of a woman who knows how to do highlights, bright colors, extensions or a men’s cut, then look no further! She’s super consultative, she has totally fair pricing, she takes her time without keeping you there all day, and she will ensure your blonde is toned to compliment your skin tone (with your permission) instead of running with the latest trend. She is always excited to try a new style you have in mind and is honestly just a great hang.

It's my first time getting a wash, cut, and blow-dry at Axelle & Ixy. I had booked an appointment online pretty last minute with Cassandra. She was busy with clients and didn't see it, which was understandable, so I had no problem waiting a few minutes for her to finish up with a previous client on the couch. When it was my turn, I showed her photos of what I wanted, and she understood what I needed and knew exactly what to do!! She even gave me such a nice head massage while washing my hair and also gave me a glass of wine. The salon is extremely clean and relaxing to be in. Before my hair was so heavy and lost it's layers, and now it's still super long and has the layers, body, and movement I wanted!! I highly recommend Cassandra and this salon...

I couldn't say enough about Axelle and Ivy! I have been seeing Cass for almost three years and she always exceeds my expectations. She is lovely, sweet and always listens. She keeps her skillz (yes, with a z!) fresh and always knows the latest techniques. I will always remember my first haircut with Cass. I was so nervous because I was growing my hair out and I didn't want a haircut but certainly needed it. She cut my hair and somehow made it look LONGER....
