We happened to be nearby and in need of lunch. This place has good reviews, so we walked on over. It's a cute little place - I love their seating in particular. The employees were wearing these great t-shirts referencing Pride month, which was nice to see. Being in a bit of a hurry, we all ordered burgers. They were hot and juicy and flavorful - really yummy - and the fries were good. Maybe not spectacular, but quite good. Their prices are a bit high for being what is essentially a fancier diner; $5 for just a burger then $2.99 for fries is perhaps a bit much but not unusual. However, the $5.50 for a root beer float that consists literally of a cup of root beer with a single small scoop of ice cream is bloody well ridiculous! I expect the food prices to be a bit higher in the city, since the costs are higher, but the price for that float just killed me. Particularly as I'd gone there for that. Given that their name is "shake shack", I figured their ice cream things would be particularly good. The shakes might be really good but that float wasn't worth the price, let alone writing home about...

I’m so frustrated and annoyed by meal I could shed a tear. Literally been up since 7am moving across the state. I haven’t eaten all day. Decided I would just quickly get some chicken bites and fries from shake shack and keep it moving as I’ve never had any issues with food quality in NYC/Jersey when I’ve eaten there. I’m going to assume they need to change their fryer oil because this entire meal was disgusting and inedible. The fries were very over cooked with a terrible aftertaste. The chicken bite were so greasy by the time I got the bottom was a layer of grease soaking up the bottom of the box. I couldn’t even eat the rest of my meal, just threw it away. The dirty grease made everything taste disgusting. Now I’m lying in bed still hungry but also nauseous/sick from the food. I have no plans on coming to this location again. Truly a waste of $35, I’m so hurt.

I was apart of the opening team and worked there 8 months. The training was thorough, standards were firmly planted and I may never stop saying heard. I didn’t like the ever present bias... and I was treated kinda crappy. The pay was enough to float and I was always getting overtime. The employees get half off but other restaurants around us got free food 😒 that made no sense. The food was good my favorite was the shroom burger, cheese fries and vanilla malt. Facilities stay cleaned every 15 minutes. I was supposed to get promoted as I earned every sign off but I was never allowed to take my test to make me a trainer but I still trained A LOT of people on every station with was a honor that they trusted me with educating the new comers. I miss working there but I have moved on.

I just so happened to be in the area post finishing a spin class workout at CycleBar for a Yelp event. Catching CTA Morgan at the time enroute to and leaving the spin class I took a look on Morgan St to see what businesses were near and lo and behold, Shake Shack was off to the side. I have actually been procrastinating on visiting the location in Skokie for sometime now since discovering it, thanks to Yelper - Passhon J. Since I have visited this location I can now cease that visit because I was not fond of locating Shake Shack inside of the Old Orchard Shopping Center at all. Now, despite this location not being inside of a shopping center like the Skokie one, its interior appeared the same. And I loved that its menu was plastered up on the wall, and readable!

As for its menu, out of a list that consisted of burgers, chicken, hot dogs, and fries, plus several drinks, beer & wine, I ordered the Chick'n Shack which is a crispy chicken breast sandwich with lettuce, pickles and buttermilk herbo mayo. In the future I would love to return and try one of their burgers because it's what built that interest to visit Shake Shack in the first place. And I did love that they give a restaurant pager letting you know that your order is ready at the counter.

As for the Chick'n Shack, it was fresh, hot, and tasty! And damn well worth trying if you are contemplating something to try on their menu or if you love chicken sandwiches.

During this visit, the employees were courteous and friendly! Once I finished my meal I was buried in my phone Yelping, and one of the employees took my tray despite me sitting right next to the trash receptacle. I was also startled by one who greeted me, asking how am I doing once I finish my meal which I rarely get anywhere unless its once I walk through the door. Big plus, Shake Shack!

In closing, Shake Shack surpassed my expectations and since I now know what to expect at this location I would not hesitate on visiting again. And besides, it just gives me an excuse to visit Fulton Market District again.

Blessings...

Very disappointed. Ordered a shake, wouldn't let me give custom specific instructions to buzz my apartment and bring up to door, would only let me choose "bring to door" but I did also enter my unit number. got a text that order was being made, but no updates when it was picked up nor dropped off. Also receipt tried forcing me to download an app on phone just to check status of order/track, no link like all other sites. But when I DL'd the app it I had no orders and theres no place to enter the order number. Driver not only didn't call me, but I got no text when order had arrived, nor had he buzzed me to get inside the building or let me know it was here unlike 99% of other drivers. Only found out it had been delivered since I happened to walk down the 3 flights of stairs to check and shake was left outside of the building blocking the front door so you couldn't even open the door to get it. Shake had clearly been there for a while since it was melted and watery and so I just had to throw it away.

Tried to get a refund on the site and it directed me either to Uber eats which I had to sign in and the order was not there since I didn't order specifically through Uber eats they must have just used them. Or when I click on contact support it takes me to some website about calling the driver for a status update or calling from the computer somehow but says I need to sign in and doesn't give me a number, so I can't even get a refund. So i wasted 13 dollars getting a 5 dollar shake delivered melted and can't even get money back. Horrible design in every way, from there being no other sites/apps to order from besides their website, to no ability to put in custom delivery instructions, to no easy way to track order, to no updates on order, to no clear way to get a refund. Thanks for nothing shake shack, please nobody ever order delivery from this pile of...

That night shift crew was on another level rude! My family and I are visiting from Arizona, and we couldn't find something to eat that was open late. We ordered our food right before 10 pm, not realizing they closed at 1030 pm. I understand the frustration of the employees wanting to end the night quickly. A male employee made it a point to let us know that they closed at 1030 and everyone would be kicked out at that time. We tried to hurry up and eat because eating at the hotel was uncomfortable. A female employee started slamming things around as she took out the trash she then slammed the trash can door and placed a tray over 2 trash cans that were near us. We assumed they had closed all of the trash cans so we tried to clean up the best we could stacked our trash on the table and started to head out, we saw one wasn't closed yet so we went back to pick up the trash and a male employee had already started cleaning it up. Meanwhile, a different female employee at the register made a rude comment about us not picking up, I let her know that the other female employee had convered the trash cans and we didn't realize that the trash can up front was not convered.

My family is not rude, dirty, or messy. We always make it a point to clean up after ourselves, be respectful, and show gratitude. The service we received was completely uncalled for. My 11 year old daughter was scared because of how hostile the employees were.

The food was good. One meal was made wrong, but it was an easy fix, and they...
