I had stellar attention on site. The nightmare experience started when I attempted to return a call from the store to find out the status of my laptop's repair. The automated phone system would only give me options that led to more automated messages - no option to bypass them and speak to a live-person, customer service rep. I thought I was calling the store because that is the phone number on the work order tickets. I also thought I would be talking directly to the technician/rep on site I had just seen a couple of hours before. Of the four options given by the system checking on the status of a work order fit my need closest. I was led to an automated message and put on hold 'while my call was being transferred." I was on hold for about 45 min. at which time I chose to hang up. I dialed again and this time I took option 1 (for store hours and location.) By a fluke, a live agent answered almost immediately. He was somewhat taken aback when I said I had a work order, but he didn't tell me he was at a 'call center' but rather said 'the rep I was looking for was tied up doing something, that he would check with him and let me know whether he could take my call." I was put on hold for about 10 min. He came back and told me "He is almost ready, so it will be a minute or so more on hold." This time it the wait was a 20 min. hold. That totaled 1 hour and a half waiting time and I was extremely frustrated! I told my husband about my experience and he offered to call, this time selecting option 2 in the menu (If you are looking to make an appointment) The phone was almost immediately answered. I then spoke to the answering rep directly and asked him whether he was on site with my rep. He said no, I am at the call center. He immediately connected me to my original rep, who apologised for the long wait to receive the important news he had to deliver. I eventually had to go back to the store to pick up my laptop and I have plans to return after I purchase a new one and do a data transfer, because I trust the brand: I had experienced their service before and was a satisfied customer. The communication loop created by an inefficient call system is at odds with the actual quality of service and put me, today, in an impossible bind, and that is why I am writing this review. Sincerely, Marina Lopez-Fleming
2025 update: I took my laptop to be repaired at this site again because I remembered the exeptional attention i received before. I was not disappointed. The laptop had to be sent away to their repair center. The projected return was about a week and a half. The repaired laptop was mailed to me directly via UPS urgent delivery - I work from home and they knew I needed it badly. It arrived 5 days earluer than expected. Communication with my local branch was key and I am...
Read moreFast and friendly service, but the repair did not impress me.
The screen they used to replace my broken iphone 8 plus screen was not very high quality. Color looks different, it smudges much easier, and it feels more like plastic than glass. Perhaps the biggest disappointment is that the screen is not nearly as bright. It's very difficult to see the screen in sunlight, even when you turn the brightness all the way up. I also had to take my phone back into the store because the adhesive they used for the screen had smudged up my front-facing camera on the inside of the glass.
My advice: if you have an iPhone, pay the extra cash to have your screen fixed properly by Apple. It's maybe $10 more expensive than what I paid at ubreakiFix. Ubreakifix knows they overcharge, which is why they are willing to match the price withother stores. Seems like a dishonest way of doing business, in my opinion. If you want to get your screen replaced for cheap, do some research beforehand and get some quotes so ubreakifix will match the price. Otherwise, you'll pay a premium.
UPDATE: Ubreakifix reached out to me to makes things right with my repair by replacing my screen again using higher quality components. But the new screen is just as bad!! After about 2 days of getting the new screen,I pulled the phone out of my pocket and it had a vertical line in the display because some of the LEDs went out. It also has an issue where the screen never auto locks. In my phone settings, I set the screen to autolock after 30 seconds, but the phone alway stays on and ends up but dialing people and all sorts of stuff while in my pocket. Not only that, but the screen glitches out constantly. Sometimes I won’t be touching the phone and it will just start switching between web browsers and apps like it has a mind of its own... really hi bizarre. It also doesn’t detecting my fingers a lot of the time when I click or type. While I would like to take the phone back and get it fixed again (for the 3rd time), I wonder if its worth my time since the store is very out of the way and I just just keep having issues when I take it back. Very...
Read moreIf I could rate this place a zero I would. I have now gone to this place twice to get my phone fixed. Both times I called a head before coming. The first time, I called quote and told them I would be right in. I made the drive there and guess what after get there. I was told they did not have the part. They did apologize and said due to Codiv-19 shipments for supplies have been behind. Which is completely understandable. So I waited a month and called today. I made sure they had the part in stock before making the drive. When I got the Hunter wrote my phone up. He went inside to get me a time on it being ready. Then said it should be done at 7pm which is closing time. So of course I would arrive at 6:45pm. I called and told Hunter who picked up the phone. I was outside. I asks do I need to come to the door to pay. He then said he could not find the work order for my phone. Then started asking me for all my information again. This is they same information he personally wrote down himself earlier in the day. After that he then told me the phone had not even been looked at. However it would be ready before closing tomorrow at 5pm. I then told him I work all day until 5. I asked Hunter could someone please stay late for me to pick up the phone. Only because I really needed the phone back. He then said yes sometimes a manager stays late. I asked Hunter could someone please call me. To let me know the phone was ready. I told him I could try to leave work early. However if I could not please make sure that someone would be there. Hunter then told me well the phone could be ready on Monday at 10. After that I asked for the phone back. What makes me upset. They could have called at anytime today. To say hey sorry we’re running behind. Can we get your phone to you tomorrow or an eta. It is an inconvenient to drive there when you don’t have too. It extremely frustrating to back and forth with customers on pick up time. Once they are there to pick up and to lose their information. I personally feel like he drop the ball. Like never wrote my photo up on...
