I went there this past Tuesday to try out their $2 taco special and was painfully disappointed. I had been wanting to go for a very long time and finally had the chance. We sat at the bar and the male bartender was very nice. Unfortunately, he was not our server. The young woman taking our order seemed to be very confused. I had to repeat myself several times that I wanted lemons to go with my iced tea and had to ask for a straw and sweetener. The tacos came out very quickly and were unbelievably unappetizing. We had one each, fish, shrimp, pork, chicken and beef and they were ALL dry, COLD and pre cooked. NONE of it was made to order and they didn’t even take the time to warm the tortillas!! There was barely any meat on any of them at all. I even asked the server if this was the normal size or if they made them smaller for the happy hour price. She said that they were the normal size but even seemed unsure in her answer. Finally, I asked for a side of mild salsa for my elderly mother because she couldn’t eat the jalapeño in the pico. The salsa was the only thing that was good but I was charged $.75 for it!! Needless to say, I will never go back there and hope they can get their stuff together. I can’t imagine anyone paying $2.00 for cold, dry, old tacos let alone their regular price of $4.50+. My advice? Stick with Berry Hill. This place is nowhere close to knowing what a real taco...
Read moreI've been going to this location since it opened and it's been an awesome spot for my family and I to hangout and get some food and drinks. I frequent this spot on a regular basis and consider it to be in my top five. That is until last night happened. One of the owners came in and was a total tool. He comes in yelling at employees and running around the bar like bat out of hell. Now the main issue lies within the karaoke that I specifically go there for on the weekends. Again, I go here for karaoke all the time and have suggested it to many of my friends. But last night as I was singing what was probably the most subtle rock song on the planet, the owner comes up to the stage and takes a picture of the name of the song and proceeds to tell the KJ that no rock music is allowed. Mind you, I've been singing rock music there for the longest and have never had an issue. When I returned to the KJ to put in a request, he tells me ALL of the things the owner had just forbid in that moment. So I was only stuck with country. So if you like karaoke and are thinking about going there for it, I would say HELL NO. You're only gonna be able to sing country, R&B and Frank Sinatra apparently. And if he's in the room might as well pack up and leave. It was completely rude and ruined my wife's and I night. Although I've been going there for the longest, I highly doubt I'll...
Read moreI went to Christian Tailgate after work because it was less than 10 minutes away, I didn't want to cook, and someone's shrimp dish picture looked amazing. I arrived around 6ish and the parking lot was filled except for two spaces. I was shocked to see the inside was mostly empty. I ordered the shrimp salad, mozzarella sticks, the pixie dust as a drink not shot, and eventually a white Russian. The food is good and tasty. The salad was filling and larger than expected.
The service was great in the beginning and then waned. As a former bartender I tip well and generally over tip and tip in cash. When I get good to poor service, I tip on the card 20% or less. Why? Because you can't say you got $5 instead of $10 and you'll owe taxes for credit charges taxes. I know, wrong but I hate asking for something twice. Let me explain...I asked for water, and the bartender said okay, walked off, serviced a couple people, then proceeded to chat with another bartender. When she saw me giving her a death stare she got me my water. Not terrible service but not the greatest. Everyone makes mistakes so she gets her 20% on the card. I get to keep the $20 I would have given her. I'm glad I didn't get the dessert I wanted. In the end, she can feel she did great, failing to realized she lost out. I get to go home, knowing I'll never go back. 3.6 stars...
