A Hidden Gem of Authentic Italian Cuisine: Il Pastaficio!
Il Pastaficio in Westport is an exceptional Italian dining experience that delivers true authenticity straight from the heart of Italy. The proprietor, originally from the Lombardy region, brings a genuine passion for Italian cooking, evident in every dish served. This is not your typical red-sauce, Italian-American restaurant. Instead, it offers a more refined, authentic Italian culinary journey that’s hard to find in the area.
The pasta, made fresh daily, is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish reflects the skill and craftsmanship of traditional Italian cuisine, with perfectly textured pasta and sauces that are rich, nuanced, and absolutely outstanding. From velvety tomato-based sauces to delicate cream and herb blends, every bite feels like a taste of Italy.
One of the standout aspects of Il Pastaficio is its wine selection. The owners have curated an impressive list of high-quality Italian wines, offered at a surprisingly reasonable price. Their lower-than-average markup is a rare and thoughtful gesture, allowing diners to enjoy premium wines without breaking the bank—a testament to the hospitality and authenticity of this establishment.
For anyone seeking a genuine Italian dining experience, Il Pastaficio is, without a doubt, the best option in the area. It’s a place where tradition, flavor, and hospitality come together, making it a must-visit for lovers of true...

Such a small, special unique Italian restaurant where every meal is fresh, healthy, prepared exactly like you would be in Italy in top local restaurants in Tuscany, Umbria or Veneto. Plenty of different, delicious freshly made pasta options (all rigorously AL DENTE!) from bigoli (thick round spaghetti-like) with gourmet duck ragu sauce, to classic cacio and pepe, or the amazing spinach and ricotta ravioli (no garlic!) to the vegan whole grain pasta with vegetables. Plus: great main dishes (think Branzino in potato crust) and amazing appetizers (best warm grilled octopus with baby potatoes appetizer!).
Finally, a wonderful selection of yummy, wholesome desserts: my favorite is the Millefoglie with berries.
As a tip, order the homemade focaccia bread (possibly with red wine, they have a great wine selection too) when you arrive, to get your appetite going!
Last, if you can't make it to dinner or lunch, you can always go and pick up your favorite pasta to bring and cook at home. If you do that, do not miss the GELATO, also homemade by the owner under label FIGO, which has the absolute best PISTACHIO I have ever had! Long review, by a foodie and lover of everything Italian, but very well...
Read moreRead the reviews about how good their lasagna Bolognese was. I should have known by the older rude man who took my order that it was going to be a bad experience. When I looked at the price online it said $22 for my meal. When I walked in to pick up my order that same man who took my order not even a hello hardly acknowledging me because he was too busy talking on his personal cell phone and had an attitude about it like I was disturbing him. I was charged $26 for a very very tiny piece of lasagna that was more like an appetizer (again the website clearly says $22) wasn't even offered a receipt. Isn't that my right? I had to ask for a receipt in which he was again annoyed. I questioned and laughed at the size of the lasagna and he asked me what my problem was. I don't know how people spend money in this place for such tiny portions of food. Also there was not one person at all in the restaurant and it was close to dinner time. Should be ashamed of yourself for charging $26 for a tiny tiny portion of food which wasn't even good. And you should have way better customer service and stop worrying about your damn phone! I will not be back to this...
