The salesperson refused to give my husband a single sheet of tissue paper to cover the item he bought me because it was a sale item. Let me be clear, he didn’t ask for gift wrapping. Just for one single sheet of tissue to cover the item in the brown paper bag. This is pretty standard practice at any shop. The woman gave him some story about how a piece of tissue would make for an “awkward situation” if the recipient wanted to return the gift because sale items aren’t returnable and so she was unable to give him one. Again, he did not request gift wrapping. Only tissue so the item wouldn’t be just bouncing around, stuck in the brown paper bag. Seems like a petty and odd policy that suggests only customers paying full price matter and that once an item is on sale it no longer warrants even a piece of tissue paper. Sounds like a small thing?
