LA Fitness — Local services in Westworth Village

I cancelled my membership in early December of 2024 but then charged for the month of January. I called and was told by the current manager, Kelsey, that the club did not have a manager at that time so the cancellation was not done correctly. I do not understand how that would matter when I was told multiple times I would need to cancel the membership between 8am and 5pm when I tried to cancel when I would go at 7pm. I was told by Kelsey I would need to come in person again if I wanted to truly cancel the membership.

She was not even there in person when I showed up. I asked if I would receive a refund for this month I was charged since I did what I was supposed to do and was told I would but received an email implying January '25 would be the last time I was billed and nothing what so ever about getting a refund. I called back the same day (Thursday, Jan 30th.) and was told Kelsey would reach back out to me. Never got a call back. I gave it time and called back on Monday Feb 3rd being told the same thing that she would call back or to call back in 10 min and she would be available. Still nothing.

I called today and got the same run around. Finally I told the person I would hold for Kelsey and after 5 min of hold I was hung up on. I called back immediately and the person answering the phone said my name and they would have me hold again. Another 5 min went by and I was hung up on again. I gave it 30 min and still didnt get a call back. This place is a joke and went I was frequently going there its always broken treadmills, slobs sitting on equipment while scrolling their phones and disgusting bathrooms. Do not give these...

I signed up for the 3 day pass while I was staying nearby for the weekend. I signed up for a 4:30pm arrival time on 2/10/25. When I got there and told the girl at the front that I was there for the 3 day pass and I had an appointment, she told me to go check in at a different desk. The guy at the desk told me to sign in on a piece of paper that had a log of peoples names at their phone numbers. He said “while you’re here you might as well sign up for a membership”. I explained I was only in town for the weekend. He said okay and that was it. Nothing else. I had to ask him to at least tell me where the bathroom was since I had never been there and didn’t know anything. So I worked out for an hour and left. The next day I got a text saying that they were sorry I didn’t make the appointment and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I replied no because clearly I already went but nothing was documented on their end. A few days later I got a text from the GM asking if I wanted to be rescheduled. I explained all of the above and that I would not be coming back and he said ok, thank you. Then today I got another text saying he was the GM Coby and my day pass was still technically there for me and asked if this week would be better for me to come get it started. As if the last conversation didn’t explain everything already about me being out of town and already went once and did not want to go back. So overall, not very professional and they must have some lack in communication and policies. They were not welcoming and informative. Not a good...

Update 4/6/25: No toilet paper, no paper towels in any dispenser. No urinal cakes in the unirnals for weeks now. I asked the front desk attendant if she could get me some paper towels, and she said they didn’t have any. There also wasn’t a single cleaning wipe to be found in any of the dispensers.

Update 3/23/25: No toilet paper, paper towels, or soap to be found anywhere. Like usual.

Update 1/25/25 (3 PM): No toilet paper in any of the stalls, and no soap — like usual here.

Update 8/24/24: I show up 30 minutes before the gym closes, plenty of time for a quick workout, and the door is locked… the employee stares at me for a couple of minutes, then comes and opens the door, and rudely says “we close soon man…” 🫠 Wtf? Super uncool.

Update 8/18/24: It’s only 5 PM, and there’s already no toilet paper in the stalls, no soap in the soap dispenser, and no paper towels in any of the paper towel dispensers? wtf??

Update 4/28/24: they should just uninstall the toilet paper/paper towel dispensers, because there’s never anything in them anyway…

The restrooms are still absolutely disgusting. No toilet paper in the stalls. No paper towels. Trash all over the place. It’s been this way for years, they absolutely do not care.

It’s so bad that I’ll probably cancel my membership soon. It’s so annoying coming to an otherwise fine gym and then realizing you can’t use the restroom because they can’t even stock the toilet...
