So, I come here very often because my workplace is close by. The food is delicious as always, but the problem is the tipping. Tipping has become pretty prevalent in today's age, and I'm all for people getting paid what they deserve to be paid. However.. Ive noticed that every time I can't afford to tip as much as I usually do ( I tip $1-$2 dollars each time depending on how many items I get, since it's just lunch. However, I also do not make a bunch of money so at times I can only afford for them to keep the change, ) some part of my order is incorrect. Whether the size of the fries were a small when it was supposed to be a medium, or I paid for extra bacon and didn't receive it on a burger.. something is always incorrect with my order when I tip less than a dollar or two. I thought I was imagining things at first, but I've been coming for a few months and it has, without fail, happened every time when I say keep the change instead of adding a dollar or two on. Listen, I understand fast food workers work extremely hard for nothing. Public service workers are so underappreciated, and I know because I've been one most of my life. However, I wish that the companies we work for would pay a liveable wage instead of make these workers rely on tips.. and when the customer can't afford a decent tip, it can be irritating, upsetting, or at worse cause someone to be spiteful and mess up our food. I'm not blaming anyone at Sonic because I know they work very hard.. but it is a pattern I've noticed for a long time. On top of all this, at this specific location, I notice that when I give my regular tip amount, the employees smile and answer my question of if the sauce is in the bag ( I always get some, but as I mentioned before, most times the sauce is forgotten when the tip is less than normal, ) with patience. However, when I ask that question and don't give as much because I can't, I'll get cut off in the middle of my question with a ' yeah ' and then they walk away. These are just my observations, and I hope in the future this location gets better for the customers...

I was at the window for about 30 minutes tonight after ordering a small blast and cup of vanilla ice cream. The first 5 minutes or so was waiting to pay, about 9:10 PM, as I left the drive through my clock said 9:34 PM. I cannot provide exact times as I was not provided a receipt, There was at least 7 cars behind me so I didn't push for one. Their apology for the wait was considered for this rating. From my extended window view WHAT I OBSERVED was 3 employees wiping their hands on their clothes, touching their hair, I believe it was a trainee pulling at the underarms of her t-shirt, taking orders and viewing the backed up orders on the screen, starting several cups of ice cream that sat for several minutes on the counter, 2 people not in uniform that may have been friends or one may have been an employee not on the clock, and all of the outside lights being turned off at 9:14 PM. WHAT I DID NOT SEE during that time was anyone wash their hands at any time, any sense of organization or urgency completing an order for those of us in line. To be fair, one of the 3 employees came in to the area that could be seen from the window after about 10 minutes just as another employee took one order out and returned with a small bag on her tray, in theory, they could have washed their hands during that time.

Read moreJust came back from this location where I witnessed Haley, an employee pick up a drink cup with her shoe. Then hand it to another employee who was unaware of the manner she pick up the cup. He then poured a scoop of ice and handed it back. When Haley open the drive thru window I asked her , did I just see you pick that cup up with you shoe. She said oh it wasn't your cup. Our drink was a medium and the cup was a large. That drink happen to go to the white car behind us whom the manager handed it to. My order was wrong so the manager corrected and added the missing item. Came home and during the drive she contacted corporate and filed a complaint. Hopefully they have cameras and can see what I saw Haley do. I would of let that car know but they drove off around us too fast as we were waiting to get our order corrected. Never had an issue there before. I also understand that there will be an order mix up from time to time. I understand. But poor handling of food and beverage containers is unacceptable anywhere. Not saying don't go there. There are good employees I'm sure but Haley doesn't belong there. Her services would best be...
