Buyers Beware.... I will never again be purchasing any product with a warranty from the Geek Squad. I purchased a 55 inch television from best buy with an extended warranty from the Geek squad. After having the Rca television for only 2 years, I began to experience problems with the tv shutting off unexpectedly. My geek squad warranty was still in effect, a date was set for maintenance. After the technician informed me that parts would have to be ordered. I waited over a week for them to arrive. The technician was rescheduled to come back to my residence, only to discover that he had ordered the incorrect parts. I then had to wait almost 2 weeks for new part and an available date to reschedule. The technician replaced the motherboard and hdmi port on my tv on 1/27/2017. I am now having the exact same issues with my tv on 4/7/2017. Unfortunately, my warranty expired in February and i am no longer being permitted to purchase an extended warranty. The telephone operator at the Geek squad informed me for that I could pay $99.99 for an appt., And I would then have to pay for any part replacement. I was very confused as to why I would have to purchase parts that were just replaced two months prior. The amount of money that the parts cost could buy me a new tv. I then asked the operator if any of this made any sense to her, i was told to do what my heart desired. As if that would resolve my issues. Geek squad needs to be able to stand by their work, and I'm not just talking about 2 months of it. Very disappointed with customer service and overall performance, or lack there...
Read moreDo not recommend wasting your money on their phone protection plan. For starters they did not inform me upon selling me their service that for my galaxy any repairs for my phone would require me to travel about 2 hours away. Also had an excruciating hard time requesting a replacement phone tried to process online did not go through then called and AFTER spending 20-25 minutes giving my info, phone type, and reason as to why I need a replacement the customer rep. told me they no longer process replacements over the phone or online (as of a couple weeks ago). I have paid for this plan for a little over 2 years and have not received the technical help I paid for and was entitled too.. any issues with my phone was more my problem solving so I basically lucked out and paid these people to do nothing. I recently processed my last final request with them for my replacement phone and I will never be purchasing a phone plan through them again not to say they lack in other areas such as laptops and other electronics/appliances but they definitely do not exceed customer expectations in this case. I will end this review with a little positive feedback..employees in store are friendly and wait time is not long even without an appointment I was able to speak with...
Read moreBought GE Washer a Mac Rd store. Bought 5 year geek squad protection. Within 2 months unit wont empty water. Called Geeks. Geeks ordered parts likely the issue since their techs do not carry parts on truck and have no local inventory, Had to wait 7 days for guy to come out....but..part back ordered...now have wait 10 more days then schedule appt. Involved store who expedited part..took almost 3 weeks to get new belt installed...could have got part at sears! 6 months later wont spin. Wait seven days for tech...guessed part was main board. Replaced. A few weeks ago horrible scraping noise coming from washer. Wait 7 days for tech. He orders 3 parts. Got a call...parts backordered. Must wait 2 weeks! They should have replaced this turkey to begin with but what really gets me is they have only 2 service techs for our large area. They are fine men but do not have access to parts to get the job done. They stock no parts. Ridiculous. Average repair takes at least 2 weeks. They had audacity to tell me to have GE come out since it was still under the GE warranty. They should have refunded my contact money and issue credit for a new washer! Bottom line...geek squad appliance service is inefficient and understaffed...where does it state this in...
