I have been music shopping at Lovell’s for about 14 years and always leave with something great to listen to. If the staffing was friendlier I am sure they would sell a lot more music especially if they played more music that catered to the crowd shopping there. The owner a tall individual can be grouchy at times and thats when I tell myself Boy if I owned this place I would be smiling and talking to everyone, not being a pest but making sure they are enjoying a great experience while looking through all the music bins.

Brian can be friendly at times and does greet everyone when they walk in. Another nice gesture at this music store is that they offer a card that gets punched every time you spend $10 (spend $40 and card gets punched 4 times) and after you have received 10 punches you get a $10 discount on your next purchase.

Stop in and visit because you just might like it, oh and one more thing, Plenty of oldies and classic rock for all to enjoy so come on down and see if you can get the owner...

This place changed the life of a 14 year old kid from hillbilly country in 1980. No, not Bakersfield or Modesto.....REAL Ozarks hillbilly country. In my Arkansas town back then, our record store sold AC/DC, Molly Hatchet, and Hank Williams. That was it. On an extended trip to LA (staying with a family friend in Whittier), I came across Lovell's by chance and was blown away by all of the Punk records that I could not get my hands on back home. I couldn't buy them all, but the very patient clerk picked out the essential 10 records I needed. It was a 4 minute bike ride back to the house on Bright Ave. where the closest turntable resided. Needless to say, my brain chemistry was altered that day and forever after. That purchase was a landmark moment in my life ( I still have that original 10 in my collection, still listen to Punk Rock every day, and am still stage diving at 55). Thank You Lovell's! ONE OF TOM'S CLERKS THREATENED MY LIFE BECAUSE I ASKED FOR AN EXCHANGE OR REFUND FOR A SET OF EARPHONES THAT DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. I BOUGHT THEM LESS THAN AN HOUR AGO. I THINK THE CLERK''S NAME IS RUBEN. I HAD TO DEFEND MYSELF WITH PEPPER SPRAY & NEARLY CALLED 9/11. THIS HAPPENED AT ABOUT 1PM ON 1/20/2015. IF TOM HAS THE INCIDENT ON VIDEO, I WISH HE WOULD PLAY IT ON YOUTUBE. I HAVE PURCHASED THOUSAND OF DOLLARS OF MERCHANDISE FROM HIM IN THE PAST. THIS IS HOW TOM TREATS HIS VALUED CUSTOMERS. I KNOW THAT TOM IS READING THIS & WOULD LOVE TO GET HIS RESPONSE. LET'S SEE THE VIDEO. I COULD HAVE HAD HIM ARRESTED FOR MAKING TERRORIST THREATS.
