Review of the Boscovās furniture department. In short, pay more elsewhere; the savings does not make up for the disrespect and extremely poor customer service we experienced. Horrendous experience from purchase to delivery. We went on November 24 to purchase a La-Z-Boy sectional we originally saw at La-Z-Boy, but the advertised price was better at Boscovās. We looked at the sectional, went shopping in other departments, went back to furniture after deciding on a color. Peter in furniture originally asked us if we had any question, not at that time. When we went back up to furniture, another gentleman asked if we needed help. Peter, who was helping another customer at the time, swooped in and said he was helping us. Okay fine. We then had to wait for Peter to finish helping the other customer. Peter told us that the color we picked was special order and it would take 8 weeks. Today is February 28 and our couch is just being delivered today. This is 2 days shy of 14 weeks. Not once did anyone from Boscovās call and give us an update on the status of our couch. In fact, when we would call and inquire, we were told a variety of the following: 1.) Peter told us 12 weeks 2.) we didnāt buy the couch on November 24; my receipt begs to differ 3.) that Peter didnāt sell us our couch; again my receipt and memory serves otherwise or 4.) the factory was shut down for 2 weeks, once for the Holiday and once for inventory... that would be 10 weeks then. What were we never told? āIām sorry or I apologize.ā Peter, the Assistant store manager, and the store manager all came up with varying stories as to why this was delayed, how Peter was not wrong, and that it would be here in 7-10 business day. Itās now 13 business days OVER the 10 business days. Someone in Corporate Customer Relations finally realized how ridiculous this is and offered us free delivery, which La-Z-Boy offered and $100 off and a gift card to Boscovās Iāll never use because I refuse to shop here ever again. Now with delivery- we were called on Thursday that our couch would come Friday between 12-4. My boyfriend took a half day from work. We get a call today that itās coming at 10:30. Honestly at this point, Iām ready to say take the couch back. This entire experience was awful. Iāve never received such terrible customer service. We should have paid the extra couple hundred dollars at La-Z-Boy to avoid this headache...

I was followed around the store by 3 employees, Who seemed to be facing bed sheet on the same shelves. After picking the sheet set I wanted, I walked out over to pick out some bath towels and wash cloths, also followed by the same 3 employees, yet again, all 3 where fixing one towel bin. I turned to them and asked where do they keep the pillows, no help, no response, or no directions to the pillow section. I found the section myself. After taking two of the pillow I wanted, I turned to walk towards a cash register and almost bumped into one of the employee that was following me around the store. he apologized for being so close and I processed to tell them, Iām not here to steal and to please stop follow me, I felt real uncomfortable. I asked whereās a cash register and this time he did respond and told me Its right next to you, which I didnāt see. They wanted me out! Boscovās would never have to worry about me shopping in their store again. The ladies on the second floor , where I purchased some ladies underwear where VERY HELPFUL. I asked if they had bra and pantie sets , they explained that they didnāt and never gave me an uncomfortable feeling. Thank you for the experience and do not worry about me coming into your stores again. Maybe this is the reason why 10 of your 49 stores went bankrupt, no one wants to shop there and be followed. The makeup counters are aimed toward elderly ladies, younger people will probably not find their favorite products here. They have a wide handbag selection and a decent size shoe department. There is a small toy department. It is difficult finding open service desks at times. The have frequent sales and you can find good prices on a lot of different items. The parking attendant is super nice :)
Quick breakdown of the floors and departments: The basement has kitchen wares, kids clothes, a candy department, home decor, a pet section, laundry accessory section and a budget area with odds and ends. The first floor is juniors, ladies, and men's clothing, as well as the jewelry counter, handbags, and makeup counter. The second floor has the shoe department, women's under garments, pajamas, sports wear, womens dresses and work wear, and jackets.
