Overall, one of the most solid commercial gyms I have been to.
Pros -Lots of space/area to train and I believe they are building more space to accommodate -Quality powerlifting bars -Most of the staff are awesome
Cons -During busy times which is almost all the time now, rude people. People who have snarky things to say about your training methods, hog areas or assert their authority beyond their bounds. There are also a lot of "IG" people there, so be wary of people taking pictures and hogging the mirrors where the Dumb Bells are.
Overall, I love training there, I just don't like training there. There are some folks who mind their own business and then there are folks who say snarky things next to you while you are lifting. As an experienced gym goer, these things don't really bother me, but my spouse didn't have a great time going through this multiple times.
Also, there is a "side" room for everyone to use except during "personal training groups". I think this is a great idea. It is just a bad idea, to also store bands and other EQ where they "ONLY" exist there. Some trainers don't mind when you enter the room to go grab bars, plates, bands and clips while they are having their class but one time specifically, I was chewed out by one of their trainers for trying to grab bands before her class started. I told her that I needed the bands for my workout and this is the only place to get them. Her class didn't start yet, but I still got an unpleasant conversation for using EQ that I pay every...
Read moreA week into my membership I arrived with a friend who was on a three day guest pass through a refer a friend program. I informed the two employees who greeted us at the desk of this, in which they responded that he had to pay money to use the facility that day. I was confused and explained to them that we just set up his three day free pass last night at the front desk with different employees and that I also used this same pass before I signed up. They proclaimed they were the managers and that the other employees must not have been doing their jobs the other days we came. Once we went back and forth a couple times we realized it was a miscommunication and it was resolved. As my friend and I began to walk to the gym area the woman employee behind the desk told me to "stop yelling". It baffled me and I responded that "I was not yelling". After that statement the male employee began walking to me in a firm manner and said that he needed to talk to me. He pulled me to the side as im trying to get in the gym area and threatened to terminate my membership and that they would continue to charge my account after termination which led to a civilized back and forth conversation of what just transpired. He agreed with me that I was not yelling but still tried to twist my words and actions to make it look worse than what it was. This is ridiculous especially considering the premium price I pay for this gym. Unfortunately I'm on a six...
Read moreI’ve been a member at Planet Fitness for a while. I saw Body Plex when they were still in the process building. Once they were built, I decided to check it out. I never worked out with a free weight bar (PF doesn’t have any) and I loved how much more convenient Body Plex was. Closer to home. Very clean. High ceilings. Free classes. Sauna in the restrooms. Daycare for kids. How could I not join!?
So I cancelled PF and joined Body Plex. The staff is very friendly and are always greeting guests when they enter and leave. My boyfriend and I joined with the couple membership and I think every penny is worth it! However, I wish we could bring in at least one free guest, especially for the price I’m paying. I also do like to look at myself in the mirror, (not to be conceited or anything, but to look at my form! Lol) I wish there were more mirrors. Especially upstairs in the area where the turf is.
Other than that, I always enjoy my workout when...
