I was very disrespected during today's visit to the Winnemucca Grocery Oulet by the cashier Maria, some other young worker girl standing next to her (doing nothing), and the "manager on duty". I am 44 years old and do not come to the store to pay for groceries, an attitude, and to bag my own food. There was a price discrepancy on coffee creamer, the tag said $2.99 it scanned at $4.49. after telling her the coffee creamer said it was $2.99, her attitude began with: "well it's scanning at $4.49" I said but the tag said it was $2.99. I asked the girl that was doing nothing if she would run back there and check the tag for me and if it was accurate I would buy the coffee creamer but if it was $4.49 I would not buy the coffee creamer. Instead of doing that she just put the coffee back. The line was getting long and I went back there to verify for myself and indeed it said $2.99. I asked a male worker if he could come help me and he got down on the floor to pull the tag (which is definitely something none of us should have to do) and said it was for another coffee creamer that was out of stock. He said "oh we forgot to pull the tag"; as I passed by the girl that was supposed to check and I said "you didn't even check on the coffee creamer for me?".... I went back up to the register where the line was even longer and gave Maria the sticker and told her that indeed it was $2.99 that I saw on the tag but the guy that pulled the tag, said someone forgot to pull it. She continued to give me attitude about this something that works of easily been alleviated, so I asked to talk to the manager; he happened to be standing next to her----when I asked him to step aside so I could talk to him, the girl that was supposed to be checking for the coffee creamer was standing at the register smirking and shaking her head as she was scanning another customer's groceries! I told Oscar how inappropriate it was for these two cashier workers to not listen to what the customers are saying, and how I spend hundreds of dollars a week in this store and I don't do that to come here and pay for groceries, an attitude, and mismatched prices that I have to constantly be checking as that is not my responsibility. Even Oscar was not receptive to my complaint and said "sometimes we misunderstand one another"; I said I would agree with that if they were my daughter's age of 10, but if you're 20 something years old standing behind a cash register working, you should be able to LISTEN to your customers coming through your line (he was 20-something also) not that age always matters, but sometimes it does especially when you're 20 years old and you're a manager/ running a store or being at the front line as a cashier, you should know how to alleviate frustrations that are not of my own fault and deal with them in a more professional manner otherwise what are you even doing working with the public?? I honestly do not feel I will be giving any more of my business to Grocery Outlet in Winnemucca anymore just because of the way I was treated, the attitude that I received, the smirking that the other young girl was doing, the fact that Maria was non-receptive and so was Oscar. Grocery outlet is supposed to pride themselves on customer service and they 100% failed on today's visit. I spend $500 to $800 a month feeding my family; and with the cost of groceries and the other options to shop at, every dollar counts when you're spending that much money and expect that the item you're pulling off the shelf is what the tag says it should be. If you're upper management or one of the store owners and are reading this, if you have any care about this issue, I would encourage you pull Maria, Oscar, and the other young lady aside and give them a heads up how they should deal with working with the public and price discrepancies. And they should be the ones bagging the groceries instead of just standing there talking with the cashier as she scans my groceries; I don't get paid to do their job, and because of them, and in the situation, your store just lost...
Read moreLove the store but management could use some help. Would have still gave 5 stars but the shift manager called to assist at checkout today was RUDE. When she came up she asked what the problem was and the cashier said she didn’t know and I told her I think it’s frozen because it’s not lighting up. She said my machines not working or your cards not working in a condescending tone. Then she tapped something and it lit up so I said perfect you fixed it and she said yeah I know.. So I nodded and just proceeded. There was no need to assume my card wasn’t working or to announce it with a line of customers Before even assessing the problem. I’ve worked in retail/management and I understand sometimes it is the customers card, but you don’t ever want to put them in that...
Read moreGrocery Outlet stocks a lot of food and assorted items gathered from all over. There are brands here that I've never seen before and some who's origin is obvious. For instance one package had a sticker stating it could only be purchased at Target. Prices overall we're excellent. And fresh vegetables look good, maybe better than those for sale at other stores in town. But, the excellent prices come with a caveat, check the products carefully. We found MiracleWhip on sale, four bottles for a price you'd expect to pay for one. Checking the bottles carefully we found all would expire in two days - a problem if...
