The room itself was fine. They are doing renovations and updates so some things are updated and others are not - overall it was a decent room for the price paid. The issue I had was I booked the room through my Capital One travel in advance and paid for it. I was traveling from San Francisco and called on the check in day to let them know I’d be arriving after midnight. They said that was fine and someone would be there to check us in. The office was open with none there when we arrived and I had to wait about 20 minutes for the guy to show up because they have one desk person working two hotels right next to each other. The guy then looked for my reservation and said that I had canceled it. Clearly I hadn’t as I had just called earlier to confirm I would be arriving late. Apparently nothing he could do about it and my option was to pay again for a room at a higher rate then I paid before and deal with it the next day. I checked out the next day and talked to a different man who assured me it would be taken care of BUT did absolutely nothing. I called and talked to one of the front desk gals a few weeks later and she understood the issue but had to send all the info to the manager to credit. AND still nothing done about it. So now I’m disputing through my credit card company who can see the original booking and charge, see that it never shows canceled and chargeback this hotel. If you were paying cash on the day of your stay it’s probably fine but I will for sure never stay here again and will recommend others to stay somewhere else because of the dishonesty and...
Read moreWhen I called to confirm my non refundable reservation, they said it had been cancelled. I had to call Hotwire and verify that I actually had a reservation who called the hotel. Evidently, they looked me up on the wrong system, which caused me a lot of unneeded stress. I almost canceled the rest of my vacation! NO CLOSET This motel tries to be cute with its remodeled rooms, but the fact is the rooms or at least some of them have multiple windows in them two with no coverings the outside lights have the most lumens I’ve ever seen a hotel. It kind of reminds you of of reminds you of a maximum security prison. Also, since there’s no closet there isn’t any hangers. Bring your own clips for the curtains to block out chunks of light and be prepared to make shift coverings for the windows or use the nasty bedspread to put along the top of the window to shut out the light. The bedspreads are white, which means noticeable stains and pilling , making it seem less fresh. The pool appeared was filled but closed for use. They claim that the single rooms have a queen bed, but if you measure them, they are 54 inches wide which is a full bed. Queens are 60”. Beware that if you book one bed, you will be getting no sleep if use to a King sized bed.. This hotel also runs the Econolodge next-door, so be prepared to wait a long time if they are checking someone in what hotel they have to run back-and-forth...
Read moreThis motel was recently remodeled. It has a fresh coat of paint and the interior of the rooms has been upgraded. Yes it's a little motel, but it's a nice little motel. If you find yourself driving between Salt Lake and Reno it's definitely worth a stop. The people that work here are super super nice especially Jennifer. When you're out in the road it's nice to feel at home where you're staying and especially nice when you feel safe. That is definitely my experience here. My room had a mini refrigerator a microwave a decent size television a little table and a couple of chairs. There's a very serviceable desk in the room so if you were doing a little telecommuting on the road this would be fine. There is a swimming pool but it looks like it was closed I'm not sure if that was because of when I showed up or the time of year but it was super clean looking and pretty. There's a lot of places to eat in the area and there's a really great gas station right next door that has everything travel related. There is also an amazing ice cream place down the street called Triple sKoop. Thank you Winnemucca for being...
