Overall, a good experience. Professional and attentive staff. Walked in, and was greeted warmly by a very helpful and knowledgeable associate who knew his stock and had a very good eye for matching patterns and colors. He asked about my needs and preferences and met them well. The store was also clean. So were the dressing rooms.
Are these clothes expensive? Well, yes and no. Their quality appears to be good overall, and one can expect to pay a bit more for well-made items that are designed to last longer and remain looking good longer. Time will tell if these expectations are met, but they have been set. One can also expect to pay more for designs that go above and beyond the āaverageā shirt and pants, and a fit and look that has polish. My purchases match this last sentence very well. (For reference, my normal purchases from other places usually come from Dillardās and are generally items from Perry Ellis and the like.) For two dress slacks, three dress shirts, a couple ties and a leather belt I spent about $600 before the ridiculous 8% tax. (Yeah, I know... not DXLās fault on the tax - just a general thumbs-down on the greedy localities that want to steal more money from shoppers because they can.)
While that feels a bit high and has me asking āDid I really need 3 new shirts?ā itās not what Iād consider to be significantly out of line for other retailers in places like Beachwood Mall. Now, if you do most of your shopping at some other places (like Burlington and Marshallās) I can definitely see why DXLās prices would be considered high. Iād do my clothing shopping there instead if I had a selection similar to what DXL offers, but at this point I donāt think thatās a viable option for me. (If you find a store that offers this, please let me know - Iām up for saving as much as I can where and when possible!)
Overall, my rating is based on the following criteria: convenience, selection, helpfulness, cleanliness, and overall customer experience. I said that would work please show me. As she turned around, she rolled her eyes and huffed as she walked towards the shirts.
