I like a lot of things about this hotel. The location is great, with easy freeway access, regardless of the direction you need to go. There are ample choices for food and entertainment around the area and Pinecrest can be a fun diversion.
Breakfast is not great but not horrible. Multigrain waffles are flavorful and you make them fresh. There's some bread items, but nothing spectacular. There's always an egg based option or two, as well as hard boiled eggs. Unfortunately, the egg options are microwave sandwiches that don't appeal to me as I found them rubbery and flavorless. There are 4 juice options and 3 dry cereal choices. There is always a heated cereal, which alternates between oatmeal and grits. For me, these are the most delicious options; a little butter/sunflower seeds/salt for my grits and oatmeal gets a sprinkle of chocolate chips and crumbled crunchy nutrigrain bars.
Check in and out is usually smooth, but the Honors wifi never works. Complimentary wifi is available, and the lobby does have 2 computers and a printer available to guests. The hotel is pet friendly, has a saline pool, a gym, and free on-site laundry (if you bring soap). The lobby is set up like a comfortable lounge.
Studio suites are a very comfortable size for 1-2 people traveling. The mattress and pillows are a good mix of firm and fluff. The full size pull-out sofa doesn't feel like lumps and bumps, but it isn't as comfy as the bed. Extra linens are always stashed in one of the cupboards. 1-bedroom suites are as large as a 1 bedroom apartment (well, practically) with the same furniture as studio suites.
There are no tubs in the bathroom, but the stand up showers are very spacious and have a rainfall shower head. The shower has shampoo and body soap pumps, and there's a good stock of towel items. There's always 2 rolls of TP and a box of tissues.
The kitchenette has a studio size full fridge, a sink with a garbage disposal, a dishwasher, and comes with plates/utensils/a toaster. Cook top and skillets can be borrowed simply by asking at the front desk. Kitchen dish soap, dishwasher powder, sponge, and towels are provided. There are coffee pots in each room, plus fresh coffee 24/7 in the lobby.
Now. I had to take a star away because the last 2 rooms I've been in have had cosmetic issues. Minor staining on counter tops and stained carpet. During daily housekeeping checks, I've never had my in room coffee and tea restocked, I've not had kitchen soaps restocked, and I've never had bathroom items restocked.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. With a price point of $100ish nightly, it's within affordability for multiple guests or...
Read moreDiamond member for 4 years rolling... I am a hospital inspector in the heart transplant/artificial hearts scope. Currently I rely on Hilton properties at least twice weekly in different states. I stayed at this Home2 Feb 21-23, 2023 because the nearby Embassy Suites was substandard. On the morning of Feb 22, I finished a spin on the Peloton and was walking back to my first-floor room and passed a Hilton colleague in the food service area. I greeted the staff member with a "good morning" only to get a glaring stare in return. No worries... it was just before 06:00hrs. I had to leave the hotel by 07:40hrs to get to Cleveland for business, and immediately realized I failed to print a document. In my haste, I made my way to the business center area with my USB drive to print the one-page document. I didn't see an available USB port, discovered the keyboard cable and disconnected it to insert my USB drive. I then heard a voice from across the packed lobby of patrons eating breakfast say, "Sir, you need to plug that cable back in! You can't do that because of security!" I turned to see the aforementioned food-service colleague making her way to me with a rushed pace. Her dialogue continued: "You have to send your printer to the computer. You can't unplug any cable because of security." I was confused and repeated her statement to clarify, "You have to send your printer to the computer?" She clarified and pointed to a small piece of paper on the lower left corner of the computer screen detailing the process of sending a document to a digital printer repository. It was so small that in my haste, I did not recognize it. I plugged the keyboard cable back in, and now, running a bit late and quite flustered, I started walking back to my room to gather my gear and I inadvertently brushed the Hilton colleague's left shoulder. That only escalated her disdain for me and she began calling me out - in the lobby with patrons and Home2 staff. I disengaged from the dialogue and returned to my first-floor room. When I exited my room to finally leave, I noticed she was looking down the hallway. By then, I was unsecure that my belongings were safe... ultimately they were and it was my insecurity. I love the Home2 brand and stay at the branches as much as I can... this one, and the Embassy Suites in Beachwood I'll avoid - and I'll be in this...
Read moreWe just wrapped up a week-long stay at this hotel following my surgery and initial recovery, and overall, we had a very pleasant experience.
All the staff members were wonderful — friendly, welcoming, and always a pleasure to interact with. We never encountered anyone rude or unhelpful throughout our stay. The main areas of the hotel, including the lobby, pool, and outdoor seating areas, were kept clean and well-maintained. One minor disappointment was that the fire pit seating area didn’t have chairs as pictured, but I’m guessing that setup is more seasonal, likely available in late spring or early summer.
Breakfast was just okay, as other reviews had mentioned. It was free and sufficient, but nothing extraordinary. This wasn’t a big deal for me, as I had already planned to stock up on groceries for our extended stay.
We stayed in a studio king suite, and it suited our needs well. We coordinated with an outside furniture rental company to have a recliner delivered, which worked out perfectly and made a big difference in my recovery, especially since the hotel rooms don’t come equipped with recliners. (If anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation, just know that’s a great option to consider!)
The room was well-equipped with a mini kitchen — full-size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and all the essentials like plates, cups, and silverware — making it easy to prepare meals right in the room. My parents, who came along to assist with my recovery, found the bed reasonably comfortable as well.
We spent a lot of time outside the room — relaxing in the lobby, enjoying the outdoor spaces, and walking laps around the hotel to stay active. We even had a few great conversations with other guests, which added a nice sense of community to our stay.
Some other perks we appreciated included the pool, fitness room, free laundry facilities (bring your own detergent), and a small selection of snacks and drinks available for purchase near the front desk.
Thank you to the team for providing such a comfortable and supportive place to recover. We would definitely...
