Harkins Theatres Yuma Palms 14 — Local services in Yuma

I forget why my husband and I don't come to this theater every time. But this time I remembered, the staff are always great and the popcorn is good depending on times. Only issue we have is the lack of security in each theater. Other Harkins I have been to are really good at coming into each movie checking to be sure no one is ruining the experience for other people. Every single time we come here I have to always leave the movie to find someone to come help with the constant loud talkers and people being on their phones, or I just stay and have the constant annoyance during the movie we paid for. There is a serious problem of people being on their bright phones throughout the whole movie. As well as someone talking really loud consistently distracting you from the movie. Honestly we rather wait to rent expensively than go to our only Movie Theater option because of this issue. I always end up missing whatever movie we decide...

Edit: I'm thoroughly impressed with Harkins' response to my original review and I'm adding this addendum because I want to be fair. My original complaint wasn't so much directed at Harkins in particular, but the movie theater experience in general. I did have a conversation with a manager from their corporate office and it was a refreshingly open and honest exchange about the state of affairs in the industry and what they are doing to improve the experience within those constraints. As a result, I'm changing my rating from 2 stars to 4, for the fact that they're actively working to improve.

Original review: Went for a 9:45 show and they had 2 people working concessions so it took 15 minutes to pay $12 for a bag of popcorn. Nice theater if a tad bit Mall /Gentrified.

The manager was nice enough to let us in when we arrived 5 minutes late for our 8:40 p.m. movie showing if that gives a general sense of what I mean by that last statement.

I understand all the economic pressures Etc of being a business open in a downtown location, but it wasn't even 9:00 and we couldn't even get a popcorn and soda because the concession stand closed down.

Again, I've been on the other side of the counter and I'm not trying to speak ill of the minimum wage employees that were just executing store policy.

I was just a little puzzled how the theater manages to stay afloat with policies like that, but...

Besides that, very polite and helpful staff and a great viewing of a very funny movie involving...
