The Banh Cuon was so soft and smooth. They cooked it directly in front of you with traditional process/rice soup by skills commonly used for Chinese rice pancake. They served it warm and moist/glossy, with pork or chicken inside, seasoned by rich botanic aroma/flavors. My opinion, the tree mushroom was the key to its deliciousness. If you like spicy, having it with a little chili would be better; which induced more tasty fragrance. I also recommended their chicken noodles. The chicken was not much but the broth tasted moderate and light. Very nice to enjoy at night as a simple meal comforting your stomach. Great food in Hanoi....

40k VND for the rice roll (pork or chicken; prawn would be 70k VND) or 50k VND for the combo which includes the roasted cinnamon pork (paste made to look like roasted pork?). Rice skin was nice and thin, and our 5 year old girl devoured the cinnamon pork. Young staff came over and showed us how the locals enjoyed the dip (squeezing a lime into it). Bought a coffee nearby and brought it in as permitted by the shop. There is an English interview printed and pasted on the wall near entrance that is a must-read on the dip's special ingredient (read:...

I ordered the combo banh cuon which comes with 2 pieces of cha que (Vietnamese pork loaf). I also ordered gio lua (lean pork sausage) on the side. Everything was good. I love both the cha que and gio lua as they are tasty and have a nice texture. For the banh cuon itself, the rice skin is a bit too thick for my liking. Also, the minced pork and ear wood mushroom filling is a bit too little in amount in my opinion. In general, it’s a good place to try banh cuon. But I’ll be interested to find other places with thinner rice skin and more generous filling.
