8020bk — Restaurant in Adelaide

Me and my partner went there just for salad, though we got a good deal. Flavours wise is good, but price doesn't match the salad portions. The portions were too small (duck pamelo and apple salad), and my partner salad also serves in very small plates (pepaya salad with 3 prawns). My youngest one had pat se_eew serves with broccoli stalks.

I gave 2 stars for the atmosphere because i have a few reasons for it.

First, the place looks nice but cluttered with a little bit some pieces of decoration.

Second, watch out to THE CHEF. He eyeballs & and is staring at us for a very long time till we finished our meal, making us uncomfortable. It's like kicking us out without telling us to go🥺🙁

I don't think it has only happened to us, but it happened to all of us who are present in the restaurant.

Third, my partner bought a jug of beer, and somehow, a bug got into it, told the older waiter, and she almost used her fingers to pick the bug out .😳😳 Luckily, she didn't do it, brought the beer in the kitchen, gotten the bug out, and brought it back, somehow the amount of the beer less than before he received it👎

Poor location, you could easily miss it because it is located in a small alley and...

We dined at this Thai restaurant that I had been saving for a special occasion. We ordered spicy crab as a starter, which was a unique dish with great taste and presentation, including fried curry leaves on top. For the main course, we had Thai chicken green curry, which was another fantastic dish and one of the best green curries I've ever had. It was rich in flavor and also included curry leaves. We also ordered a combination pad Thai with chicken and prawns, which had a decent flavor, but I did notice that the chicken and prawns weren't fresh and had a strange taste, which was the only downside.

We also tried two cocktails, the "Prick Me" and the "Blue Margarita," which were amazing and punchy at the same time. They were also unique and a must-try for anyone.

I recently dined at 8020bk in Adelaide and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The curry, which was supposed to be a Thai specialty, was made using frozen chicken, which is a far cry from the authentic taste one would expect. Moreover, the absence of shrimp in the tom yam soup was a major disappointment, as it's a crucial ingredient in this classic dish.

To my surprise, the Thai-style BBQ chicken was served as four pieces of frozen chicken instead of the previously used whole chicken, which significantly impacted the quality of the meal. On top of these disappointing culinary experiences, the service was marred by impolite waitstaff.
