You may want to read this long review before deciding to pay a visit to BB Thai Town, this was my personal experience visiting the restaurant on Monday 02 June 2025 afternoon. We chose to try BB Thai Town due to its nice look, and the interior does reflect Thai's street vibe.
We had a warm welcome from one FOH staff, and problems started since we sat down on table 12 (allocated by staff). There was no one guide us how to order, until we figured out the instruction that we could either order at the bar, at table by asking staff, or there was a QR code to scan for each table (their menu is huge, DOUBLECHECK before sending your order).
Next to us was table 12A (had customers sitting down later), which almost blocked the way for either the staff or us to get through. My friend and me literally had to stand up to help staff tranfer food on the table. It was difficult for staff to serve us, as well as to take care of us as they mostly seemed to focus on those tables that is closer to walkway. Hopefully, restaurant manager will review the table setup.
We sent the order early when there were just 2-3 tables filled, but had to wait for 20 mins for the food. It's likely that our order was missed as customers in other tables arrived later but got served and even left. We asked staff eventually and our order got processed in another 10 mins.
One thing I noticed was that there're about 12-14 FOH staff, but most of them walked back and forth a lot without doing much, or just constantly looking to clear dishes (we felt quite uncomfortable). Staff should have asked if we finished the food yet before taking the plates as for us, we still got food there and he took them away.
When one staff cleaned the table next to us (table 12A), she somehow sprayed the detergent over our food and we could all smell that. No apologies to us at all. My friend quickly covered the food, but I was not surprised if I had diarrhea or stomach upset after this meal (and it happened to both of us).
Some staff did not seemed to know what they were serving, which tables, and also not sure if the table has received all the dishes. Only one male staff was standing at kitchen bench to receive food from the kitchen and redirect other staff to bring food to tables. I understand they're new and the restaurant is newly-opended, the way they worked might be ineffective and not really well-organized.
Finally, the staff assisted me to pay at cashier did not know how to operate the paying machine, and she left me standing there alone until other staff offered help. Besides, when we were just about stand up and leave, one staff IMMEDIATELY came to clear the dishes, and one other QUICKLY cleansed the table without saying a thank. We felt like we were not welcomed and being pushed away (the total time we stayed there was an hour, and more than half of that was waiting time). Please note that the restaurant was not so busy at the time and second floor was not yet opended.
I believe all above issues could be fixed with better staff training. Clear communication is an important part of any customer service, not just about giving menus, cleaning tables and processing bills.
Other than those above issues, the food tasted good. Will I come back? With the food, maybe yes, however, I have other similar options with same price range, but better service. It's just the customer service was not strong enough to convince me to return.
I hope manager and restaurant owner will read this comment with a mindset to improve the business, no hate attitude was mentioned. This place is at such an advantageous location, has nice look, good food, what is left to be fixed is the...

If you’re a Thai food lover in Adelaide, BB Thai Town is definitely a spot you’ll want to check out! From the moment I stepped in, I could feel something special about this place.
⸻
✨ Vibe & Atmosphere – 10/10 Walking into BB Thai Town feels like entering a little slice of Thailand right in the heart of Adelaide! I’ve never been to Thailand myself, but I hope this is what it feels like—warm, vibrant, and full of character.
The interior design is honestly stunning! From the hanging lanterns to the rustic wooden finishes, intricate wall art, and cosy lighting – the team behind the design has truly nailed it. It’s inviting, authentic, and very Insta-worthy! Big shout-out to the design team – you’ve created a space that feels like a cultural experience.
⸻
📖 Menu – Variety & Creativity – 9.5/10 This is hands down one of the best Thai menus I’ve seen in Adelaide. There’s a huge range of dishes – from well-known classics like Pad Thai and Green Curry, to some really exciting options I haven’t seen elsewhere. Everything is described well and makes you want to try everything! The menu shows off Thailand’s bold and diverse flavours beautifully.
⸻
❤️ Service & Staff – 10/10 The service here is absolutely top-notch! Everyone is super friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. They create a very relaxed and comfortable dining experience.
And can we talk about the uniforms? So unique and stylish – it adds such a cool, professional touch and really sets BB Thai Town apart from other places.

🍜 Food – Taste vs. Presentation – 7.5/10
Taste: The flavours? Delicious! You can taste the authenticity in every bite – rich, balanced, and true to Thai cooking. It’s clearly made with care and fresh ingredients.
Portions: Very generous! You’ll definitely leave full and satisfied.
Price: Fair and reasonable for Adelaide. Not too pricey – I’d say good value for the quality and portion sizes.
Presentation: Here’s where there’s room for improvement. The dishes on the menu look beautiful and carefully presented—but what arrives on the table doesn’t always match the photos. Some of the food textures and colours looked a bit off from what I was expecting. It’s not a huge deal if you’re focused on taste, but if you love pretty plating for photos, you might feel a bit disappointed.
⸻
Overall: 4/5 Stars BB Thai Town brings flavour, culture, and hospitality together beautifully. With a little more attention to food presentation, this place could easily be one of the top Thai spots in all of Adelaide.
Would I come back? ✅ 100%! Would I recommend it? ✅ Absolutely – especially for those looking to enjoy authentic Thai flavours in a beautiful, cosy setting.

Read moreIt was our first visit, and while the menu was quite extensive offering a wide selection of Thai dishes it did feel a little overwhelming at first but assuming they had to offer so much was good. We decided to go straight for the mains, ordering a Massaman Curry and a Pad Thai. The food took around 25 minutes to arrive, which felt a bit long given the restaurant wasn’t busy, but we didn’t mind initially. However, since the food was already taking longer than expected, we asked the staff to check on our order. They didn’t seem concerned or show any sense of urgency, even though it had been well over 25 minutes. You can check your cameras as well. When the food finally arrived, it was excellent full of flavour but unfortunately, the service was poor. Because we ordered through the app, no one checked on us to confirm the order or see if we needed anything. We assumed the curry came with rice, but it didn’t which was not a problem we ordered it with the staff, but they didn’t care to ask if we would like to order that in the first place when they served it to us, which was surprising. When a staff member eventually brought out the food, they just placed the dishes on the already crowded table without clearing empty plates from our friends, trying to squeeze the new plates in.
We ordered dessert while still finishing our mains so it would arrive on time, but it ended up taking at least 20 minutes. When we asked the staff to check, they seemed nonchalant, again showing no sense of urgency. By that point, we were so disappointed that we decided to pay the bill and skip the dessert altogether. The staff offered to pack it for takeaway, but we were done and just wanted to leave. There was no apology or acknowledgment for the poor service. Even as we paid, another staff member came over to ask the cashier what had happened, and the server claimed we hadn’t told them we were waiting for dessert, which was ludicrous. There was no one to come to check on us or follow up about it. If customers are expected to notify staff themselves, that should be stated somewhere, but that’s not how proper service works. I am not here for any discounts or freebies but i am not at some McDonalds or Hungry Jacks that i need to keep checking on my food, please take this as a constructive feedback and improve your service. Overall, while the food was fantastic, the service was extremely disappointing. In fact, it felt like there was no...
