NEVER AGAIN! First of all, I feel sorry for the owner.
The food was ok, but staff???? WORST. I have to give credit to the men staff during that day we dined Sunday 20/8/23 at 1130am, they were alright, but the female staff?? Im not even sure why she is in a customer service job. Disgusting attitude.
So, I booked days before. I saw the cafe from food experience Adelaide’s IG page and Im a review based customer but I didnt mind the low rating as the food seems nice. But now I understand why the low ratings.
When I came in no one even bothered to greet so I initiated “Hi, I have a booking..yada yada” and they looked confused- obviously did not check bookings and my booking was not done. I originally booked for 3 adults and 1 highchair for my 7 mo old. The guy barista first led me to the high seating and Im like what?? How will my baby reach that height of a table and I found it ridiculous so he offered me the other table that still has plates from the previous customers so we had to wait til they clear it up and I told him so I have no booking? And he reasoned “oh because they are a lot of people still seating so I cant ask them to stand” well thats why I made a booking so I dont have to worry about it I thought to myself. So I told him “oh I thought you have to check the booking first thing” and its not like I just booked an hour ago, I booked days before. And the highchair was not even cleaned from the previous user so I had to clean it.
So they guy went back to their station and obviously told the girl waitress about what I said and this waitress did not stop looking at me. From the time we sat to the time we left. And when she served our starters she did not put the food in a proper manner, she put it in a way to show she’s not happy with us. Then my husband asked for water, I dont know if it was the manager but he was nice enough to tell the baristas as he was cleaning the tables (yes he cleaned them no one of the waiter or waitress do them and I saw the waitress from time to time just chatting and using her phone) so, no one came to give us water so my husband asked the manager (lets call him that)again, so the lady came, and in a very mean way asked “water?!” And she put the water disrespectfully, I was keeping my cool.
SOMEONE IN THE MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO TALK TO THIS LADY STAFF, I even saw her take orders leaning with her fist on her cheeks like she’s bored. Like who takes order like that?! I have worked in customer service sectors for a long time and it’s disappointing to see this attitude. SOMEONE IN THE MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO TAKE ATTENTION TO THIS. You pay her the same but your business suffers, like literally, I would not go back just because of her.

We came with a group of friends and ordered coffee in mugs but were given takeaway cups, Reason: we were too many people with a big table. I can take that, maybe there weren't alot of clean mugs . All good. When I tried to Order Eggs Benny with English muffin, they said they only do it with Rye Bread. When I said I'm allergic to Rye, the staff went inside to ask if they can do English muffin instead. I saw the chef inside signalling her with fingers "Pay extra". SO BASICALLY CHARGED ME SOMETHING WHICH IS NOT MENTIONED ON THE MENU. All good, extra $2 isnt a big thing but fine! Pretty sure Rye bread is more expensive than English Muffins in the market!!!!
Next When all our orders came, all poached eggs were over cooked. As seen on pics, they weren't flowy. We thought it could be just 1 egg, but all other 10 eggs were OVERCOOKED!! Mushrooms were also not cooked properly! That just made it dry. Other Rye breads were too hard for my friends. STONE HARD. If the eggs were flowy that might have made it a bit easier to have the bread a lil more moist to break.

The lady taking our order stating she wasn’t listening when I ordered. Despite her repeating the order three times. She came to our table stated she hadn’t been listening and took my order, again. My partner then paid. Coffees took a long time to arrive at our table, and again, they were not busy. Most of the tables were empty. On a good note, great chairs and vibe but seriously get your act together / better staff or more staff needed. Side note - popped in for a coffee the next day.
