Rosa Mexicano Glenelg — Restaurant in Adelaide

Coming here was a complete and utter disappointment, and a massive regret. I work 3 jobs, all in customer service and 2 of which are food and beverage, if i ever did this to any of my customer's/patrons, id have my head on a stick. If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. Drove an hour just to come here on my only day off for the month, waited patiently for an outdoor table as we brought our dog. Stacked the dirty plates on the end of the table for easy clean up, yet somehow all the staff walked back inside empty handed. ordered our food and drinks, an hour later and still no food... kids so hungry they could cry and it grew increasingly cold outside. Approached staff who look very concerned, turns out kitchen didn't get our order. Asked for a refund and the gentleman (lets note the lady and the gentleman assisting me were lovely) offered a refund on the food and to make our food and have it out within 5 minutes... 20 minutes later and only the kids tacos came out that I requested due to the kids on the verge of a breakdown. Went back up to the counter to find they hadn't even started making the rest of the food, it's freezing cold outside and our dog was starting to freak out after being tied up for 90+ minutes. So it's now almost 9pm, and still haven't eaten, $20 wasted for parking, an hour drive back home. (Soz couldn't take photos of the food) I understand this whole ordeal mightn't have an impact on the cantina, its absolutely no skin off their nose but for me, I only get one day a month to have a family day and take them out for dinner, and this has left me in...

💬Comment: Kyra's: I think my partner and I found our go to date nights. I thoroughly enjoyed all of our meals. Minus Mexican croquettes, had chorizo therefore I was spicy for me. I actually would rather swap my menu to my partner.. he said no 😭🤣 There are food in Menu that ISN'T spicy! I absolutely love the vibes, the colours and astmophere. Glenelg is our favourite location therefore this is perfect for summer dates. I am so keen to try and explore their menu especially of course burgers.

We had such an amazing night at Rosa Mexicano Glenelg! 🌊🌮 The location right by the beach gives it a special vibe, and the restaurant itself is vibrant, colourful, and full of energy – it really captures the spirit of Mexico and Frida Kahlo’s artistry.

The food was absolutely delicious and so fun to share. We loved the smoky street corn, juicy chipotle chicken wings, and the taco platter with fish and lamb – every bite was packed with flavour. The chicken, pineapple & coconut curry burrito was such a unique twist, and the sizzling chicken fajita came out hot and full of goodness. To top it off, the cocktails and sangrias were perfect, and we couldn’t resist finishing with churros and a Nutella quesadilla for dessert.

What makes this spot stand out even more is the atmosphere – two levels of dining space, seaside views, and a family-friendly menu that makes it perfect for any occasion, from date nights to group catch-ups. The staff were welcoming and made the whole experience even better.
