Echo-ey music, chipped furniture and bright, cold lighting makes the whole venue reminiscent of a train station at night. The staff look at me with disdain as I panic order off the enormous LCD menu in front of the counter. I order what I think is pho and receive cold noodles with lettuce and carrot grated on top and spring rolls which appear to have been made with cardboard. The portions are generous. The table I sit at is wobblier than my parents marriage and my cutlery is catapulted onto the floor as my foot brushes the table base. Review: Sit Lo's bun bo hue was a major letdown. Not only was it excessively salty, but it lacked any discernible flavor. The broth tasted like it was made with a gallon of saltwater instead of traditional spices. It was devoid of any depth or richness that you'd expect from this dish. To add insult to injury, the portion was overwhelmingly filled with noodles, barely any meat in sight just three measly slices. Read moreThe small phò is a lot smaller than other places, although it only costs $10, I didn't expect the size to be this small as other stores are usually $12 for a small, the $2 does make a huge difference in sizing so if you usually eat a lot just size up for $14.
The food was mediocre at best, the broth was a little too sweet for liking. Another thing I was quite surprised about was that they don't serve the toppings(?) In a separate bowl, instead they put it on the top which was really weird to me as I don't eat coriander, which they put a lot in.
