I was so excited to finally visit Aizome Bar in Brisbane’s West End—the bar that just won Best Bar in Australia 2025 by Gourmet Traveller. It’s tucked away on a quiet street corner in a pretty nondescript building, but once you step inside, the vibe is instantly calming. The space is intimate, moody, and zen-like, with a soft blue color scheme that reflects the meaning of Aizome (“blue” in Japanese). What makes this bar truly special is the artistry in every detail. Tony Huang, celebrity mixologist and cofounder of the specialty technique Neo Cocktails , is behind the bar creating his signature wine-like cocktails. These aren’t ordinary drinks - they’re meticulously crafted over 3–5 days, layering flavors and aromas in ways I’ve never experienced. Even the ice is imported from Japan. The glassware was made by artists in Japan. I don’t drink alcohol, but I didn’t miss it for a second. The non-alcoholic cocktails were complex, beautiful, and memorable - floral, fruity, woody, spicy - depending on what you ordered. Each one smelled incredible before you even took a sip, and every recommendation from Tony was spot on. The food was just as impressive. My friend had the $69 tasting menu, which is such amazing value considering it ends with the decadent wagyu sandwich. I ordered à la carte - the edamame, prawn tempura, and soba noodles—and everything was both visually stunning and absolutely delicious. With only 10 seats, reservations are essential. This is not just another bar; it’s a truly unique experience in Brisbane’s dining and cocktail scene. Perfect for anyone looking for something elevated, artistic, and unforgettable.

At +81, it’s not just about the food (though the Aizome bar menu is exceptional), it’s about the experience. From the moment you sit down, you’re treated to a journey: Japanese ice flown in frozen, exquisite handmade glassware, and staff who don’t just serve, they storytell. Every ingredient is explained with care, adding to the excitement of tasting each dish. It’s these extra touches that elevate +81 from a great meal to an unforgettable experience. We are so excited for their restaurant launch and can’t wait to see how they build on what is already something special.

I was influenced by an insta review and decided to check it out. I booked online and we headed in for an early food tasting experience and we also had some cocktails too. The staff were very friendly and professional. The venue only seats 10 (I think) and it’s such a small bar that we walked straight past it the first time! It was so nice to have such a cozy and intimate date night. Would definitely love to go back again to try some more of their cocktails!

What a phenomenal evening. I don't have enough praise for the staff this evening. The rest may sound cheesy, but I wouldn't be doing them justice if I said anything less. We had the set food menu, Neo Cocktail flight, and a few sneaky whiskeys afterwards.

The staff were exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. They truly took the time to chat and indulge our curiosity.

The food was stellar. Wonderful produce, prepared beautifully. There was so much care and attention to detail. Absolutely delicious.

The Neo Cocktail Flight was amazing. The flavours and textures and complexity of each drink made for such a cool experience. We honestly couldn't get over the taste and the incredible aromas of each drink.

We also loved being able to stay longer in the lounge afterwards for another drink or two.

I can't recommend this place enough. I can't...

Such a beautiful experience at Aizome Bar!

The cocktails, crafted by Tony, were creative, elegant, and full of character. Each one felt like a work of art. Definitely the best I’ve ever had! Every drink was carefully paired to match the flavour and texture of the dish, bringing everything together in a balanced and memorable way.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Each dish felt refined and thoughtfully prepared, from the plating to how it complemented the drinks.

The whole experience felt carefully put together, from the atmosphere to the glassware, all the way down to the hand-cut ice blocks imported from Japan.

The service was warm and friendly. The staff were incredibly welcoming and took the time to explain each cocktail in detail, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Thank you for a lovely night....
