I love this place - the best fish and chips in Brisbane and I’m just glad it’s in our neighborhood.

I believe a business shows it’s true colours, not when things are great but how they respond when things don’t go to plan. Tonight, I ordered dinner for my family through Deliveroo - something we have done without incident many times over the years.

Tonight, the Deliveroo rider claimed to have waited out the front of our apartment building for 13 minutes (never buzzed our place despite that clearly mentioned in the app delivery details) and as a result they cancelled our order. We live in a well known building on a major street with an obvious front door - very unsure which part of that was difficult for the rider. One missed call but that was the extent of the delivery attempt.

After a very polite interaction, Deliveroo refused to redeliver or refund meaning we lost $45. Extremely frustrating. But this is not about that delivery company, this is about Sea Fuel.

So I called the store direct... aware that they did nothing wrong but to see what could be achieved. The manager was very kind and helpful. He arranged for the order to be replaced in 10 minutes with no fuss. I appreciated this so much as I respect it is highly unlikely they will be reimbursed by Deliveroo.

They showed real class tonight and will always get my business. Next time I’ll get off the couch and order directly and pick it up. Dinner was delicious - best chips you will ever...

My favourite local fish and chip store. No matter if I’m dining in or ordering it via Uber eats I’ve never been let down by the quality of food and especially by the customer service when dining in. Even when ordering via Uber eats my food always comes hot, I know if I feel like fresh hot chips this is the place to order from, not to mention the fish and salad is always so delicious! My family loves seafood so we would regularly dine in when my son was young, they were always accommodating for our pram making sure we were sat appropriately and in a comfortable place.

We always order a lot and find we fill the table fast so having staff accommodate by bringing another table over and making sure there is enough space has always been helpful and made our experience so much more enjoyable!

The fish tacos are absolutely amazing and the size is just prefect! The salads are the best I have ever had from a fish and chip store and are always so fresh! The fish is always fresh and the range of fish makes it even better! The menu is large with alot of options and share platters which is perfect for families so I definitely recommend this place...

Having worked in fish and chip shops before I was hardly impressed by our experience. Steep prices, tacky metal plates, sloppy plating, small portion sizes. Our Barramundi was cooked well well beyond the 55 degree target (it climbs 5-7 degrees after removal from the heat). It was also defrosted from frozen and not fresh. The crumbed calamari was an anemic shade of beige, and was hard to believe it was a genuine sliced squid tube, texture wasn't right, processed maybe. Our seafood salad was 95% cheap Surimi (seafood extender - fish mash flavoured with fake crab, red colouring and msg), it had a sickening plain mayonnaise, minimal fresh herbs, capers, citrus, anything actually, really bland and one tiny pink prawn with vein in the whole serve. They also need to let the fryer recover temperature after cooking frozen chips repeatedly. Don't be fooled by the flashy decor or chef jackets, this is just another standard fish and chip shop, and there's better around. It's busy because it's the only one in West End and has footpath dining. The owners need to visit some at Burleigh heads and other coastal towns and see how it...
