Ordered 2x bagels, juice and iced coffee from NYC bagel. One order was for a Gluten free bagel and the other normal. The person crossed out the gluten free and wrote normal on the order form. I could not eat it as I am celiac and it could be incredibly dangerous. Why would you think this is ok?
On top of that, we also orders specific items extra on the bagel, were charged and they were missing. I completely get things can happen ingredient wise, but we paid $5 extra for that addition.
My partner messaged the Facebook team and tried to call the west end store who never seems to answer. The Facebook message was seen and ignored. Something like food allergies SHOULD be incredibly important in a food business.
Not only could I not eat the meal and lost money, if I had not glanced at the reciept to see the writing, it could have been incredibly dangerous. You could have called if you didn't have gluten free, we would have cancelled. Please, please educate your staff on this. Very dissapointed and won't trust you again. At least respond to messages and/or answer phone calls.
If you are gluten free, please be careful to make sure it is correct....

I know it has great reviews but avoid this place. I'm a local and I return to give them another chance every time because the food is delicious. We have had it all; from bugs in the food, completely wrong orders, incredibly rude staff or staff that actually can't understand the order, staff almost never wear masks correctly, and today someone was eating something out of his hands while cutting up bagel dough. The final insult today was that they gave my order to the wrong person who OPENED it and gave it back. The staff then tried to hand it to me and were shocked and SCOWLING at me when I asked them to remake it as someone else fingers had been in it. This place has a great menu but the regular staff will run it...
Read moreEDIT: Thank you for your response. I had driven home and eaten 1 half of my lunch before almost finishing off the 2nd half when it was spotted and I almost threw up. Safe to say that put me off travelling over 10 minutes on a Sunday for a replacement bagel or a refund which would have encountered an uncomfortable interaction. I think a growth opportunity here is the investigate how this occurred to ensure your food safety is up to scratch as a few of these 1 star reviews highlight the same calibre of complaints.
