Had dinner at Bangalore Days today, and I’m still trying to figure out if it was a restaurant or a very elaborate social experiment in disappointment.

Let’s start with the dosa – or should I say dosette? I’ve seen bigger pancakes at a toddler’s birthday party. And the potato filling? Blink and you’ll miss it. Maybe they were going for minimalist art, who knows? Additionally, the sambar was served in a chutney bowl. Because obviously, serving a liquid in a bowl that holds three drops makes total sense. I didn’t know we were playing “Guess the Taste” with teaspoons of sambar.

Next up: Chicken kebab. Juicy? Yes. But no chutney on the side. Because dry grilled meat is clearly how royalty eats. I guess flavour pairings are just optional at this place.

And now, for the grand finale – the goat curry with rice meal. This masterpiece had the flavour depth of boiled water and was plated with the same love and care as a cafeteria tray during a power outage. Presentation? If I could rate it in negative stars, I would.

To be fair, the interiors were nice – because clearly all the effort went into wall paint and not the kitchen. The service? Let’s just say if slow, inattentive, and confused were a sport, they'd win gold.

Bottom line: For the price they charge, you’d expect flavour, service, and at least one dish that doesn’t feel like it was made in protest. Bangalore Days needs more than a revamp – it needs divine...

A True Taste of Bangalore in Brisbane!

Let me start with a warning: this is a heavily biased review—and for good reason! As a proud Bangalorean, I can tell you that BANGALORE DAYS is not just another Indian restaurant; it’s an absolute gem that perfectly captures the heart and soul of Bangalore’s flavors right here in Brisbane.

Forget your usual butter chicken and naan expectations. The incredible team here is bringing the authentic, nuanced essence of my hometown to my new favourite city! Every single dish generates a massive flood of endorphins and holds a special place in my heart. Dining here is like having a cheat sheet to the best street food and regional specialties of Bangalore. I've yet to try a dish I wasn't completely blown away by!

Here are a few must-try dishes to get you started: Masala Puri: This street food favourite will absolutely blow you away. Chicken Kebab: A perfect 10/10—juicy and incredibly flavourful. Paddu: Get ready for a pure flavour explosion! Andhra Chilli Chicken: Seriously, don't even get me started! Pro-tip: Order some small dosas and use them to scoop up every last bit of that sauce. Donne Chicken Biryani: Pure culinary fireworks! I can't even!

Give BANGALORE DAYS a shot! You might just find your new favourite Indian...

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE – WILL NOT RETURN

FOOD: The food was mediocre at best. Nothing stood out, and there are plenty of other restaurants nearby that offer much better quality and flavor.

SERVICE: The service was incredibly poor and unprofessional. First, our order was incorrectly taken—we received cauliflower poppers instead of Manchurian. Then, we waited for jalapeño poppers that never arrived. Only after asking did the staff check and inform us five minutes later that they were out of stock.

To make matters worse, when I went to pay, the bill included the jalapeño poppers we never received. I pointed this out and mentioned that we were never informed they were unavailable. The manager simply removed the item without a word of apology or acknowledgment. When I asked him directly, "Did you hear what I just said?" his only response was a flat "Yes"

This level of indifference from both the staff and manager was extremely disappointing. It’s clear there’s a serious lack of communication and accountability in this establishment. I won’t be coming back, and I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS...

Small South Indian style restaurant & bar with pleasant service. I ordered the vegetarian thali, enjoyable, especially the cauliflower, the two curries were mildly spiced, was expecting a bit more fire as I ordered it hot. A large serving of rice & small desert.

Absolutely loved our dining experience here! We ordered the Karnataka-style chicken curry, goat curry, khaali dosa, and chapatis — and everything was exceptional. The goat curry was out of this world — rich, flavourful, and impossible to stop eating. The chicken curry was equally impressive, with both dishes showcasing perfectly cooked meat with the most amazing textures. The chapatis were soft and fresh, and the khaali dosa was beautifully done — crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy inside. The chutney that came with it was delicious too, packed with authentic flavors. We also tried the non-veg thaali, and it was a feast! Generous portions of both savoury and sweet components made it a wholesome and filling meal. On top of the fantastic food, the service was wonderful — warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. It really added to the overall experience. If you’re looking for authentic flavours, hearty meals, and great hospitality, this place is an absolute must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!
