Had dinner at Bangalore Days today, and Iâm still trying to figure out if it was a restaurant or a very elaborate social experiment in disappointment.
Letâs start with the dosa â or should I say dosette? Iâve seen bigger pancakes at a toddlerâs birthday party. And the potato filling? Blink and youâll miss it. Maybe they were going for minimalist art, who knows? Additionally, the sambar was served in a chutney bowl. Because obviously, serving a liquid in a bowl that holds three drops makes total sense. I didnât know we were playing âGuess the Tasteâ with teaspoons of sambar.
Next up: Chicken kebab. Juicy? Yes. But no chutney on the side. Because dry grilled meat is clearly how royalty eats. I guess flavour pairings are just optional at this place.
And now, for the grand finale â the goat curry with rice meal. This masterpiece had the flavour depth of boiled water and was plated with the same love and care as a cafeteria tray during a power outage. Presentation? If I could rate it in negative stars, I would.
To be fair, the interiors were nice â because clearly all the effort went into wall paint and not the kitchen. The service? Letâs just say if slow, inattentive, and confused were a sport, they'd win gold.
Bottom line: For the price they charge, youâd expect flavour, service, and at least one dish that doesnât feel like it was made in protest. Bangalore Days needs more than a revamp â it needs divine...

FOOD: The food was mediocre at best. Nothing stood out, and there are plenty of other restaurants nearby that offer much better quality and flavor.
SERVICE: The service was incredibly poor and unprofessional. First, our order was incorrectly takenâwe received cauliflower poppers instead of Manchurian. Then, we waited for jalapeño poppers that never arrived. Only after asking did the staff check and inform us five minutes later that they were out of stock.
To make matters worse, when I went to pay, the bill included the jalapeño poppers we never received. I pointed this out and mentioned that we were never informed they were unavailable. The manager simply removed the item without a word of apology or acknowledgment. When I asked him directly, "Did you hear what I just said?" his only response was a flat "Yes"
This level of indifference from both the staff and manager was extremely disappointing. Itâs clear thereâs a serious lack of communication and accountability in this establishment. I wonât be coming back, and I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS...
