Very disappointing to say the least . My partner and I had booked the valentines dinner in advance and arrived at 7pm to then be sat down with menus and not really understanding of what we were supposed to do as the booking was a set menu…. We weren’t even talked to for 15mins I had to wave down our waiter who then explained on set menu very briefly . 45 mins later a sad plate of haloumi fries come out after waiting that long we were shocked. Then 15 mins later came out garlic pizza … another starter. Getting another round of drinks was near impossible as not once did they check up on us. It’s kind of funny because the booking says we can only stay a maximum 1.5 hour so tell me why we didn’t get our mains until 8:46pm, 1 hour and 46 mins later, we couldn’t believe it took them that long to bring the food out . Everyone else around us had sat down after us and finished and gone before we even got our mains. Our waiter even kept checking in with us asking if we had gotten our food yet, but not if we wanted more drinks ? Like you tell me . The pasta came out steaming hot as we ordered the neopolitana which tasted like pasta in a can, not a single herb was used and the pasta was over cooked we couldn’t even put our fork into it , it fell apart. And the pizza was undercooked in the middle. So disappointing to have waited that long and they don’t even care about the quality of food going out. At this point we just wanted to go home so after the first few bites we asked for the dessert because who knows how long that could have taken. We were laughing at this point because we knew we got scammed and were far beyond sad. The dessert comes out and then we leave . They seriously need to look into the service side of this place as people around us all had to either get up and go to the counter or wave someone down for five minutes just to get served. We have visited twice before and thankfully we won’t be back again. What was supposed to be a romantic night for valentines turned...
Read moreI recently visited this charming Italian restaurant in the heart of the CBD, and I must say, it exudes a warm and cozy vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. The staff here are generally friendly and always ready to assist, which adds to the pleasant dining experience.
As an Italian restaurant, I was especially excited to try their renowned pizzas. However, I must admit that my personal experience left me somewhat disappointed. The pizzas I ordered seemed to lack the warmth and freshness that I associate with authentic Italian pies. They felt a bit cold and soggy, which affected the overall flavor. Perhaps it was an isolated incident, but for me, pizza is a fundamental aspect of any Italian eatery, and I expected a bit more.
On the other hand, my experience with their gnocchi was truly exceptional. The dish was cooked to perfection, with a delightful blend of flavors that truly captured the essence of Italian cuisine. It was evident that the chef put a lot of effort into crafting this dish, and it certainly paid off.
In light of my mixed experience, I decided to rate this restaurant 3 stars. While the cozy ambiance and excellent gnocchi left a positive impression, the underwhelming pizza was a significant factor in my rating. Nonetheless, it's worth noting that everyone's taste preferences are different, and other diners might have a different perspective on the pizzas.
For those who appreciate a warm and inviting ambiance and are fans of gnocchi, this Italian restaurant could still be a worthwhile option. However, if you're seeking outstanding pizzas that transport you to the streets of Italy, you might want to explore other pizzerias in the city. Regardless, it's always a joy to experience the diverse culinary offerings that the CBD...
Read moreGreat restaurant for a casual dinning experience. Dishes are tasty however service is really lacking and a let down for this restaurant.
Portion sizes are small and the pasta is a little underwhelming. We ordered two mains of gnocchi which is already gluten free. The addition of chicken to the creamy mushroom pasta left me trying to find the chicken in the dish. All in all I was able to locate two small pieces of chicken. The mushroom which formed a key ingredient within the dish was dry, bland and burnt. The halloumi addition to the pesto pizza was also quite poor. It was dry and overcooked. You could be forgiven for thinking that the gnocchi was packeted and note made fresh.
However, the pizzas are superb and this is probably what most should choose from when attending this restaurant as opposed to pasta which does not appear to be it’s forte.
This is where the disappointing service kicks in though. We were asked for last drinks and as we had just finished our meals we were looking over the drinks list to decide. Within about a couple of minutes at best we were ready to go and called over the waiter to take our orders. We were advised that the bar had closed about 15 minutes ago and indeed the last drinks round we were told was not even accurate.
Prices are cheap though and the general ambience and decor of the...
