I attempted to come in here over the weekend with some friends. There was a long line, didn't take very long. Once we got to the front, one of the bouncers let my friend in. I was right behind her and he looked at the sandals I was wearing and said that I couldn't come in, as well as my other friend who was also wearing sandals. We stepped to the side and watched some other girls go in behind us who were also wearing sandals (probably more dangerous than ours), and they were let in with no problem. We questioned a different bouncer (the one who refused us had left) and he said "Who told you no? I don't care if you're wearing sandals, you can get back in line." We went to rejoin the line and this other woman, I guess one of your employees, came behind us and very rudely informed us that we'd been "flagged" for inappropriate shoes and we would not be let in. We asked why several others were let in with the same shoes and she said "I didn't see that." And she walked away. If this was simply a matter of us not following a certain dress code then fine. But the fact that these bouncers let some people in and then randomly refuse others is unacceptable, especially when we were all completely sober and wanted to spend our money at your venue. Consistency is important. Won't...

Established in 1863, The Stock Exchange Hotel (known to most Brisbanites as ‘Stockies’) is now one Brisbane’s most iconic pubs. This has largely been owed to a multimillion-dollar refurbishment which unveiled a brand new look for the hotel, and most notably, a stunning rooftop bar on top of the heritage building. Positioned right in the heart of Brisbane CBD, the rooftop outlook is surrounded the city’s most scenic skyscrapers, creating a completely unique and sophisticated ambience that has placed Stockies permanently on the map as a destination to experience some of Brisbane’s best dining, wining, entertainment and everything in between. On the lower level of the Hotel you will find the bustling bistro and dining areas, as well as two expansive bars. The off-street Public Bar has kept it’s olden day charm with adjacent premium TAB facilities and gaming lounge. The hotel also bestows multiple sophisticated function and event spaces including two private rooms located on the rooftop level. With plenty of space and a wide variety of different areas to suit any occasion, The Stock Exchange Hotel is the perfect place to hold your next event. Oozing sophistication and quality, it is time to come experience the Stock Exchange Hotel in all her...

0 star rating without hesitation sunday night 25/06/23 tried to go to an after party with my friends and was let in with a rude remark from the security on the door once upstairs i went to tell the guard up there how i was treated he told me he would talk about it with the guard and to follow him downstairs. once downstairs (before i could even tell my friends i was there) i was kicked out with no explanation or empathy for my phone being dead and essentially left alone in the city. they then refused to charge my phone to help me get home until the guards shift changed over and i could ask again after multiple hours of waiting and crying on the street. disgusting treatment of customers and terrible rude and unprofessional security guards with not a manager in sight.

this entire business should be closed down for the well-being of the brisbane city community.

the same night i witnessed another customer get punched in the face by security with little provocation besides being drunk. his nose was likely broken and i hope he sues for all you...

17/03/25 I went to the stock exchange hotel for dinner and the service at the bar was very prompt as it wasn't very busy. The man serving at the bar was polite and attentive. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the parmigiana I purchased, it was bland and flavourless, the side of chips had no flavouring. I'd recommend this place If you'd like attentive service and nice staff, although I'd go elsewhere for a decent meal. 23/05/25 I decided to give this place another go after the last time due to limited options, unfortunately my experience was once again below expectations. The service I received by the bar staff was great, but cant say the same for the food. I ordered the parmigiana and the coleslaw included was revolting and the parmi itself was bland, the only decent part was the chips and sauce. The coke I ordered at the bar was once again flat and tasted like water. I am reluctant to return to this pub due to having multiple subpar experiences. I would only go here if you have low expectations for food but appreciate good service.

23-05-2025 Update: I decided to give this place another shot, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning. The meal was disappointing again. I ordered the steak sandwich and specifically asked for no tomato, yet it still came with tomato, thankfully, I’m not severely allergic. The drink also tasted just like soda water again, with no syrup, just like my last visit. On a positive note, the bartender was excellent, that was the one highlight of the experience. I attended this venue for dinner on 17/03 at around 7:30. The service was great, but the food was just okay. I ordered the $19 steak deal, cooked medium-well, but it ended up dry and tough, almost like cardboard, which was a bit disappointing. On top of that, our drink, which was supposed to be Coke, tasted more like soda water, possibly because the post-mix syrup was out. Despite this, I’d be willing to give the place another try at a later date.

On Friday 23rd August 2019 we went there for lunch, as a lot of people had recommended it. Waited in line for 15 minutes to order, took about 30 minutes for the food to come out. We ordered a steak and two chicken parmigianas. The chickens were raw so we ate what bits were cooked as we had wasted enough of our lunch hour to order and wait for the food. Upon leaving I approached the manager who apologised and offered to remake it for us but as we were in a hurry to leave he took my name and number and said he would call to organise a refund. it’s been 5 days and no one has called!!!! Very disappointed in the quality of food and the service and the management.
