I won a $500 bar tab prize for Eagles Nest Brisbane (via a giveaway run by Zomato Brisbane), and used it to host a little gathering at this rooftop bar - sharing the sunset views, plus some drinks and food, with friends old and new. . Everyone got to pick a drink of choice upon arrival - the most popular choice of the night was the bubble trouble ($20) - the venue's wickedly good, spell binding signature, featuring bubble gum infused vodka, pavan, blackberry liqueur, lemon, soda & gomme.
Food wise I pre-ordered some items to share. The first two rounds of items came on time: spiced mixed nuts, $8.50 cheese board, $25 - walnut bread, lavosh, quince beer battered chips, $9 - spiced tomato chutney, aioli turkish bread, $16 - duo of dips, dukkah, extra virgin olive oil
But the rest of the food (including some additional orders made on the night) was severely delayed, some by more than an hour, even after my chasing them up multiple times: truffled fries, $10 - truffle oil, parmesan, aioli tori karaage, $14 - ginger, yuzu chef's pizza, $21 - house made dough, seasonal ingredients salt & pepper squid, $15 - ponzu, lemon panko coconut prawns, $14.50 - lime, coriander aioli
Didn't realise until a few days later that there wasn't any live music (mentioned on the website)... anyways good thing the conversation and company kept guests occupied đ Big thanks to everyone who came along and made it a...
Read moreI honestly canât recommend Eagles Nest at all. The food was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The potatoes were cold, stale, and not crispy at all and tasted like they had been sitting around for hours. The so-called salad was literally just lettuce and shredded cabbage dumped on the plate. No seasoning, no dressing, nothing to tie it together, completely dry and bland. The âking prawnâ was tiny, not fresh, and absolutely not worth the $15 they charged for ONE prawn. The Moreton Bay bug bun was basically just coleslaw stuffed into bread with barely any bug meat. The chips were the best part, but even then they werenât hot.
On top of the poor food, the prices were outrageous. I wouldnât have minded paying extra if the quality matched, but this was nowhere near worth it. For whatâs supposed to be a premium venue, the food felt cheap, lazy, and rushed.
Never coming back here, and Iâd strongly suggest avoiding it if youâre looking for good food. All 8 of us left hugely disappointed by...
Read moreBeen there for New Years Eve and it seemed like they did it the first time. Food was really good, however, they ran out of whiskey at 11pm. I don't even know how something like this can happen as they knew exactly how many people will come. Also the DJ was just a woman putting requested Spotify songs in a queue. That's something my 10 year old sister could've done. The whole night was just some random songs one after another. Even though they said it's open til 1 30 the so called "DJ" packed her stuff at 0 30 and there was no more music, also all the staff left the bar so there was only one girl left pouring drinks and she was obviously unable to cope with that. You had to tell her where the different kind of liquors were located in the shelf. Sad to say this was the worst NYE in my life so far and also the most expensive. I don't blame the staff because they tried their best but it was so poorly executed that you might think a 9th...
