This bakery had been highly recommended to me and I was taken there Wenesday morning. I was so excited after hearing about how great the bakery was. I had no problem waiting in line for 20 mins that was fine It didn’t bother me at all even though we were in a bit of rush. the prices wouldn’t bother me either if the service was any what good. as someone who works in a high end place where customers service is number 1 I was quite disappointed after hearing about their reputation. the first time I went the blonde lady was almost panicking at how many pastries the person I went with wanted, but from my understanding that’s actually quite normal for someone to drop $90 in your store on baked goods. the lady was some what confused in the beginning although that’s definitely understandable that didn’t change how stressed she appeared getting our order together, which would leave a bad impression on any customer coming into your shop. not only that but she mentioned it as we were paying which is extremely unprofessional. You should never imply someone paying their hard earned money in your shop being stressful at all that’s what your there for, that’s quite embarrassing especially when the next person could only make you $20. but despite that I put her comment aside because of how good the food was. I went back today and I have no idea if it was my appearance to the same blonde lady from Wednesday morning, or if she remembered me earlier that week (as my hair makes me quite easily rememberable as it’s a deep red with glitter strand of tinsel through it) or if that’s just how she naturally behaves towards your customers but she shattered my whole opinion today. I went in quite late u had almost sold out of everything which again is understandable, that’s on me I knew better but what definitely isn’t understandable is how utterly rude she was when I was checking out. she wasn’t even the one serving me it was different lady and I was quite glad about it but this different lady forgot one of my croissant‘s which I honestly still even wouldn’t of let that bother me as I’m quite easy going and understanding until she put my order on the eftpos I was told when I am ready and all I was doing was transferring money to the right card and my bank app was even already open before I got to the counter in consideration of how busy you guys can be it was a 1 minute job and when it was loading to go through to my card the very same blonde lady who wasn’t even serving me spoke to me in the rudest tone telling me to hurry up and pay in less words I felt completely disrespected and un-valued I honestly couldn’t believe I was treated like that in whats whats meant to be high end bakery and to think I was prepared to spend a bomb in ur shop if there was more available to purchase which just makes me feel even worse about the experience and usually I’m not one to think like that especially when it comes to money but I was absolutely completely and utterly disappointed and you should be too she let ur bakery down this woman at your front counter represents your brand and this was the impression I was given...

It's a 4.5 stars not a 5 I explain why. I tried almost 10 pastries, the goat cheese croissant was dinine! I had a pear pie which wasn't far from being perfect, a pear danish croissant, pain aux raisins, custard croissant (I've asked for the almond one got the normal) THE ISSUE is mille feuilles and the Eclair au chocolat. I was really curious before trying this bakery to see if they can make a good mille feuille, cause even the really GOOD BAKERIES that I have tried, everything was amazing except the mille feuille. It was just honestly just O.K, it was more like a 5$ pastry than a 10$. Same for the Eclair au chocolat, the dough was too soft, totally lacking texture, it has to be mastered better. Also the chocolate filling was way too BASIC, for 10$ we need a WOW effect! And also the croissant wasn't the right texture neither, it has to be more flaky and crunchy, I've had better croissant. ALSO, I was very surprised that the custard didn't have any vanilla bean NOWHERE. This will totally level up ALL pastries and get them to a 4.8-5 stars. Cause the pear pie and goat cheese honey croissant got me a WOW effect. It's probably one of the Best Bakery in Brisbane that's for sure, but I will not recommend the Mille Feuille and éclair, and the give a 5 review, I need the WOW effect on every single one. For the vanilla bean, we just a a drop of rhum/vanilla inside the crème patissière and that's it. I'll defitely go back to try the triple cheese, really good food experience, that's for sure and the staff is french.

PS: I wish you guys had the chocolate almond croissant with the vanilla custard and chausson aux pommes, that's my favourites...

If you’re a pastry lover, get ready to be blown away by Christian Jacques Pastries in Brisbane. We were absolutely floored by the quality here. The croissant? Hands down one of the best we’ve had, rivaling the iconic ones from Agathe Patisserie in Melbourne. Think layers upon layers of flaky, buttery perfection. The texture was spot on, light and crispy on the outside, soft and melt-in-your-mouth on the inside. It’s the kind of croissant you want to savor slowly, but it’s so good you end up devouring it in no time. Bravo, Christian Jacques! This is what a benchmark croissant looks like. To those hyping Lune, it’s time to rethink your loyalties.

The savory croissants were just as impressive. The ham and cheese croissant and the bacon and goat’s cheese version we tried the next morning were next level. Everything that makes the plain croissant great was amplified by the rich, savory fillings, delivering a punch of umami that kept us craving more. Honestly, since returning to Melbourne, we haven’t stopped dreaming about them. No exaggeration.

We also tried the gougères, which hit all the right notes. The texture was spot on, and the flavor balance was impeccable. Every bite was a delight.

Service here is quick and efficient, despite the long queue stretching outside. But honestly, when the pastries are this good, you wouldn’t expect anything less. It’s well worth the short wait.

Just a heads-up, it’s a takeaway spot with no indoor seating, though there are a few benches outside. Whether you sit down, stand, or eat them in your car, these pastries demand to be eaten on the spot.

Well done, Christian Jacques. Highly...

This used to be my favourite bakery, it actually pains me to write this review but I was disappointed the last few times I was there. I always get 3 of whatever I feel like on the day, and the staff member would shove the 2 crooked ones in the bottom of the bag and the ok looking one on top. Pictures below are from the most recent 2 weekends, I’m no pastry chef but the almond croissant looked burnt and the plain one looked like someone took a bite out of it (and no it wasn’t me, I made a ham cheese croissant out of it when I got home). I don’t know how they thought it was ok to hand these out to customers and at the same time still charged the full price? And when I was there last weekend, they gave me my pastries in these super thin brown paper bags with no logo, similar to the ones you get from a fish n chips shop. This is so unacceptable given the price. I personally did give them the benefit of the doubt, but I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this to anyone either.. [UPDATE] Fast forward to Sunday 18/05/2025 - this place again gave me a burnt nutella croissant. And the burnt bit was again shoved in the bottom of the bag, so I again didn’t see it until I got home.. I still cannot not wrap my head around how they think this is ok? Serving burnt pastries to customers.. Honestly at this point I think my money should be spent elsewhere - at bakeries where they actually care about their customers, obviously there’s no quality control here. I came back hoping it’d get better because I really like the croissants here - I guess this time it was on me..
