This is one of my favourite places to sit, relax & enjoy a great cup of coffee. Their egg & salad sandwich is my go to order. The outdoor courtyard area is where the magic happens, water features, beautiful gardens, birdlife, lizards & bronze sculptures create a very special space to relax & enjoy the sunshine & tranquility. If you have overseas guests or small children to entertain this is a nice place to take them, children will love the large water dragons who live in the gardens & trees, just watch your feet as they aren’t shy! The Ibis birds will steal your muffin or sandwich if you leave your table unattended. Make sure you take a scroll through the gallery when you leave the cafe, but don’t take any food & drinks with you! The Gallery does have an awesome children’s Art Space which holds free creative projects during school holidays. Weekends are very popular with families who can book tables for their small birthday celebrations, check with staff for booking guidelines. if you wish to chill without the crowds, I do suggest using Google Maps ā€œpopular timeā€ graph, to help you avoid the crowds. The cafe entrance is a bit obscured, its tucked in a corner, public restrooms are not located inside the cafe, you will find them in the art gallery directly in line with this entrance, walk 50m down towards the wall ahead. There is a secret glass door hidden in the glass wall as you enter the gallery entrance on the left. It’s located opposite the gallery shop. This door is a shortcut with direct access to the...

Very lovely brunch. We were in Brisbane only for the weekend and decided to have brunch in the city and followed the good reviews. Originally, we wanted a breakfast and the restaurant opened too late so we came back the next day and it was worth the wait! The food was delicious, and the service was really professional, friendly and accommodating. I had a toasting with double bried, tomato relish and onion jam and I'm in love with it! It wasn't super filing but soooo good. Every ingredient was great quality and worked so well together. My partner had a BLT sandwich with chips which he also enjoyed the tomato relish. Then we had a citrus tart which the staff brought when we were ready and we enjoyed it a lot. The location is great with the water sound, beautiful big tree providing shade outside and the lovely designs from the art gallery. Great place to stop by before or after visiting the gallery. My only criticism would be the smell from the recycled water? Outside but I understand the concept. Also it is a bit loud near the water. But that didn't take anything out of the great experience for us. Definitely...

This has always been a favourite place to drop in for a quick bite to eat and coffee, and the food and service has generally been good but the experience on Thursday 21 December was truly bad! The savoury muffin and banana bread were stale and no offer was made to heat them up. When we asked for butter (to take away some of the dryness) the waiter growled that the kitchen was very busy but he might be able to put something together but it would take a while. It took10 minutes. We waited and waited for our coffee and left when it had not arrived after 35 minutes!!! I asked for a refund of the cost of the coffee and received my money back. Yes, the cafe was fairly busy (though not full), but there is no excuse for serving stale food, for not employing enough people on busy days, or for tolerating staff delivering poor service and being rude to customers. We hope that QAG cafe reviews its staffing and management and soon returns be being the place we knew - a pleasant place with good staff...
