Sippy Tom — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Sippy Tom has some serious flavour game. My long black came without crema, which was a bit of a letdown—but the taste made up for it: fruity, bold, and unexpectedly delicious.

The Moroccan lamb dish? Wow. It left me speechless the first time—absolutely packed with flavour. The burger was tasty too, though a bit on the oily side—a touch more freshness would’ve brought it into balance.

The vibe is great—super comfy couches and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger.

We went back again. My partner ordered the lamb dish again—still delicious, but not quite as punchy as the first time (seemed to have less sauce or flavour). I tried the breakfast bowl—flavourful, especially the dill and pesto with the mushrooms—but personally found the textures a bit too similar throughout.

We also tried the strawberry cream bun. The cream was amazing but very sweet, and unfortunately the bun itself was a little stale.

Coffees were on point again though—smooth and strong. Still a great local spot, and we’ll definitely be back...

One of my absolute favourite spots for coffee and brunch! Open seven days a week, this café ticks all the boxes—great food, consistently good coffee, and a super casual, welcoming vibe.

Ordering is a breeze with the QR code system or at the counter, and here’s a pro tip: Save the QR code menu! If you’re grabbing takeaway, you can pre-order your coffee before you even get there—no waiting, just caffeine efficiency at its finest.

The staff are always friendly, and let’s just say Tom is… easy on the eyes. (Shhh, don’t tell my husband! 😜) It’s usually busy, but you’ll either find a seat or won’t be waiting long for one. Inside is comfy, but I love sitting outside—perfect for people-watching and admiring all the stylish Teneriffe dogs on their morning walks. Bonus points: the café is dog-friendly, with treats waiting near the front counter for your four-legged friend.

Nestled in a perfect spot in Teneriffe, Sippy Tom was the perfect Saturday brunch spot for a rainy autumn day. Being a weekend it was definitely busy (so book ahead like we did) and we had to wait a while for food, but coffees came out quickly and the service was incredible - we were even given free refills for coffee as an (very unneeded) apology for the wait.

Definitely recommend the breakky burger, a classic menu item with a personalised Sippy Tom twist that took it to the next level. Coffee is a St Ali brew which is always a highlight and was made to perfection. Some of the juices/smoothies I saw coming out also looked pretty damn delightful.

It’s getting a bit up there in the price range but that’s becoming the new norm for brunch in Brisbane, the delicious food and energy of the staff is more than worth it.
