Six Acres experience was an absolute pleasure!!! Firstly, the area (location) where the restaurant is located is fabulous (Lane filled with amazing Bars & restaurants)! The restaurant was so easy to locate (next to Brisbane Showgrounds) and was very welcoming! The presentation was great with good amount of lights, people and other amenities.
BRETT was a pleasure to deal with - He explained every part of the menu clearly and even gave us a bit of knowledge about the meat cuts and things!! One of the BEST fine dining restaurant’s we have ever been!!!
Entree’- Yellow Fin Tuna - crusted in sesame seeds w/ watermelon, black olives & Wasabi aioli - The most DELICIOUS Tuna I have ever had, the dish was filled with amazing different flavours and we didn’t want to stop eating it - Perfect portion as well - 5/5
Mains 1 - Eye fillet (Medium - From the Grill) with Mushroom forest sauce - The meat was perfectly cooked with good amount of seasoning and flavours. Mushroom sauce was great and it went perfectly well with the Eye fillet! - 5/5
Mains 2 - 4 Point Rack of Lamb - Lamb was well cooked with good marination! Vegetable ratatouille, garlic & chive butter, wild forest mushrooms were NOT WELL Presented - and I got a bit of supermarket gravy taste with the sauce - considering the price of the dish ($49) - I would expect this to be well presented and well made - 3/5
Sides - Crunchy Fries with Parmigiana cheese and Truffle oil - I cannot believe I am saying this but, The BEST Fries I have ever had - It was absolutely DELICIOUS with perfect seasoning and parmigiana cheese - Cooked with perfection- really cannot wait to get back to eat it again!!! 5/5
Dessert - White Chocolate & Star Anise Brulée with Assorted berry compote, fresh cream - One of the BEST Brûlée’s we have ever had! The texture was fabulous with crusty layer on top and flavours were absolutely amazing!!! Compote & Cream went perfectly well with the dish - 5/5
It was an amazing experience with SIX ACRES this evening - Perfect atmosphere, Amazing Team member (BRETT), Super delicious FOOD - Nothing more to expect!! Can’t wait to get back to try every other dish...
Read moreFood was nice, vegies and other sides were really good, only reason for not 5 start was steaks were over cooked, brother asked for rare got medium, I asked for medium got medium well - but they tasted fantastic and were very tender so we still enjoyed them. The sides were 5/5 and a decent size, the green beans were still crunchy. The steaks were smaller than I remember (were 400g, now 300g) perhaps covid and/or inflation are to blame, but worth noting as I found it a bit steap with the smaller cut.
Steaks are priced and served with no sides, but do include a sauce, dipping salt, frilled lemon and confit garlic.
Wait staff were good and bar was well stocked with spirits from all regions (including some Aussie stuff out of Tassie and Victoria - Lark & starward).
Desert was ok - creme brulee. We have had this hear before at a solid 5/5, but not this day. If I'm being critical, the center 30% was perfect but the outside seemed over done, not having the same silky smooth texture as the center, the conoli was nice with no complaints.
Menu was a limited holiday menu untill they are in full swing again end of January. I remember more side options in the past, getting rosted chat potatoes and broccolini , so hopefully they come back with the full menu.
I've been quite critical with my review mainly due to the prices. At $10 to $14 for sides (steamed geen beans, chips, garden salad or mashed potatoe) and $48 for a steak with no side - the price didn't live up to value and Perfection I got on my previous visit. I wait till I visited somewhere at least twice normally three times before writing a review, unless the first visit blows my socks off. And I apologise for not getting a photo but was in the moment and quite hungry, so got straight...
Read more1 star for our eventual waiter who was helpful, happy and quick. 1 star for the beer/ wine which they were able to pour from the tap/ from the bottle without butchering it.
$4.50 Oysters that were room temp, milky and mushy, honestly they were disgusting. Sent them back after forcing 1 down and spitting a half chewed one back in the shell. Hoped the Kilpatrick would be better as often when Oysters not at their best cooking/ sauce will help, they were a disaster, why was the sauce so thick? Horrid.
Medium rare steak was overcooked, nicely presented and mash was really nice to be fair. But for the eye watering prices you expect a lot more.
The waiter who served us first was a total toss pot, imagine having that bloke as your first impression guy. Honestly with only 60 reviews at this point when I write this, many must be fake because this place is not worth the money, its not even close.
EDIT (In response to the reply from SA):
They were awful, the fact I chew naturals is a sign to most who eat them that I enjoy them and eat a lot of them. Its possible they were delivered fresh but the storage options were poor from there as they were room temp borderline warm when I got them (gross).
The Kilpatricks were not taken off the bill, we ordered 3 Kils, 3 Chef specials and 6 naturals. The 6 naturals were so bad I sent them back and they were taken off the bill, thank you. We ate the others as were hungry and couldnt possibly have asked for them to be removed.
Errrmmm, flash grilling should have had it undercooked not over?!?!?!
As for the guy who informed us about the time issue on the Tomahawk, he was great as per original message. First guy, horror show.
All good, just saying it how we experienced it. For the money should be...
