Christmas 2025 Lunch. We all had a fantastic time at The Lex this year. The Lex truly outdid itself this year with its 2025 Christmas Lunch, delivering an unforgettable festive dining experience.
From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming wait staff (Special mentions to Yash, Tashi and Tiago) set the perfect tone for a joyous celebration.
The culinary offerings were nothing short of spectacular. The multi-course menu showcased the restaurants talents in providing a perfect blend of gastronomic creativity.
The small bites and entrees were a delight, with dishes like the velvety scallops and a beautifully plated wagyu beef carpaccio teased the palate with exquisite textures and flavours.
For the main course, the lamb rump stole the show. Cooked to perfection, it was tender and juicy and beguiled a smokiness in every mouthful. The mushroom lasagne was reported to be delicious at every level which was met with rave reviews at our table.
Accompanied by an array of side dishes that were both comforting and innovative. The roasted potatoes and the minted coleslaw were standout additions.
Desserts were a triumph of artistry and taste. The sticky date pudding was a classic done right, while the trio of chocolate mousse added a decadent touch. Each bite was a testament to the skill and thoughtfulness of the pastry chefs.
The service was impeccable throughout the afternoon. Attentive yet unobtrusive, the staff ensured every guest felt special and well-cared for. Their genuine warmth and efficiency made the entire experience even more memorable.

Read moreI came here with a couple friends on a Monday night and weren't too thrilled with the service. Initially everything was great, our waiter was super attentive and helped us with the menu and beverage options. However, once we ordered our food our waiter gave no more interest in our table and didn’t interact with us again. Once our food arrived (delivered to us by 2 different waiters) there was pretty much zero service, no check backs and they didn't even ask how the meal was. Moreover, we had requested that the chips did not come with the chili salt, the waiter completely forgot them and then when they did arrive, they had the salt. We also were really looking forward to the truffle mac and cheese, yet there was no sign of truffle anywhere in the dish, and didn’t taste remotely like truffle. We only managed to make this known by staff when they were clearing our table since no one had come by to check on us. When told the waitress she apologized and took off the bill but did not offer us a fresh dish with truffle. The restaurant was particularly quiet and I appreciate it was a Monday, but the staff pretty much closed the restaurant around us, banging and crashing around. We were not offered dessert or asked if we would like another drink but just offered the bill. We understand that the restaurant and kitchen will have set closing times, however, we would have expected to be informed of these times so we could order accordingly. Overall, the food we had was lovely but the experience as a whole was tainted by poor service and feeling like we were being kicked out after spending a fair amount on a meal AND...
Read moreI am not one to typically leave a negative review but our recent experience at The Lex was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my son’s 19th birthday influenced by social media advertising featuring their famous tomahawk steak. But unfortunately the reality fell far short of the expectations set. Firstly my husband’s beer took 15 minutes to arrive, long after we has placed our food and other drink orders. We ordered oysters to share, but there were no oyster forks and instead we were offered teaspoons. The major disappointment was the tomahawk steak. We requested it to be cooked medium but it was served rare and was far from the quality expected for a $400 piece of meat. Out of frustration and not wanting to ruin the celebration further, only 2 out of 5 us ate it. The remainder was sent back to the kitchen. We requested a refund for the steak but this was not accepted and whilst a small discount was offered it did not adequately address the poor experience. To the restaurant’s credit, the manager did call me personally to apologise , but we still feel that this response was inadequate. It is not our nature to leave negative reviews but we feel that our genuine concerns have been disregarded and based on principle we will not be returning to nor would we recommend this establishment. Our overall experience was extremely disappointing and I hope that this feedback encourages the restaurant to address these issues to prevent future customers for experiencing the same...
