Terrible experience. I have a small Bichon Frise well behaved and trained service dog. It was to be a family lunch. My stepson and partner had ordered and were seated with their meal at a table. On arrival I made my way to the counter to notify of my assistance dog and to allow them to see his access cards. My wife was at the buffet and I joined her. I was quickly confronted by an irate staff member who was no doubt the owner / manager who demanded that the dog be removed from the premises. It was explained to him the dog was a service dog with public access rights. Not good enough, he said he couldn't care less if it was reported and I was moved towards the doorway to wait for my paid meal. Meanwhile, my stepsons and partners meals were transferred to take away containers for removal from the premises. To reduce the confrontation further we left the premises to eat at home. This is a very brief statement about the attitude and service at this establishment. In reality it was quite loud and confrontational. The proprietor has no concern for the law in this country and values profit against service. He breached federal and state legislation on no less than two counts and showed little regard to the consequences. 100 penalty points for each breach would be around $22000 now that's a lot of soup for a service dog sitting patiently under the table. Not to mention court costs and damages. Enjoy your lunch, but try to remember, not all disabilities are obvious. Meanwhile I'll let the lawyers...

This all new establishment is housed in Australia Fair Metro on the southern corner of Scarborough St.
Pristine fitout is a little clinical though spotlessly clean with a huge variety of ingredients to construct your own soup .I was surprised by the helpful staff and pleasant genuine smiles 😃
The seating is extensive with private booths as well as community seating available. Plenty of free condiments to add to your soup or dry noodles... not to mention the variety of different noodle types available.
There were 5 different soup bases all of which sound delicious.. I chose the traditional Malatang style which was tasty and spicy without being over the top.
The restaurant opened just last week ..the middle of September 2021.
If you have never tried this style of cuisine previously... this restaurant provides and excellent environment with helpful staff. Should you be a Malatang conessuer... you will be coming back for more.
Although this is a well known worldwide chain of restaurant... the owners here provide excellent service with quality ingredients at a reasonable price.. do yourself a favour and...
Read moreWas a little skeptical because of the reviews, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Never had express malatang before (only the sit down hot pot version where you cook your food yourself at the table) and heard good things so I figured why not try it. Whatever I got turned out to be quite delicious, hot and fresh, nice flavors, and a touch of spice. It was their signature broth, and they have a variety of toppings and sauces to mix in as well. Only down sides were the rather high prices (mine came out to be about $27 for 1 bowl, my husbands was $29, they are large bowls though), as it is priced by weight. And they do need to keep the ingredients topped up, several containers were empty, including in the condiments section. The drink I got was delicious too, even though I have no idea what I got, some kind of sweet tea lol.
They give you a tag with a number on it then display the numbers on a digital screen. They don't call it out, there's just a notification sound. Also if you're getting take out, just ask for a condiments container for the...
