Fen Ku Rice Noodle Bar — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I haven’t come here for about 2 years because the food contained a heart attack amount of oil, and it still hasn’t changed, probably gotten worse. I ordered the Ma La beef brisket noodles which I thought would contain beef brisket, but in reality it only possessed sliced beef, the cheapest kind and was really surprising considering the meal was $17. Moreover the presentation for the food was awful and looked like they just dumped all the ingredients together mixed with a load of oil. The service and atmosphere was atrocious as when the waiter brought up the food, he just dumped it on the table like it was nothing which again was really surprising. I chose to sit outside today which was definitely not the ideal choice as the tables and chairs were so much lower quality then the ones inside. Fen Ku is located in Gold Coasts southport Chinatown. The type of food they sell is rice 🍚 noodle 🍜 with different types of intestines and meat. If you love this kind of food, then you’ll find it enjoyable, but if you don’t then stick to the traditional beef 🥩 brisket noodle soup 🥣 because that’s all they really serve. The food doesn’t look very appealing, but when you try the broth it’s quite flavourful and tasty. Something to mention is, they offer extra noodles free of charge so let’s give them credit for that 👍🏻. Other interesting things include their decor and the menu that hangs from the ceiling (You’ll have to be Chinese to read that though) otherwise you stick to the pretty pictures on the menu. I had a bad experience with the staff. I don’t normally write bad review unless it is really bad. I ordered my take away and went shopping. When I went back to pick up my order, the staff showed me the noodle in the bowl on the table. I told him that I did order for take away - there was no apology, no intention to fix his mistake, at the end he charged me the take away bag fee and put the soggy noodle in the container.
